Sir Daniel Michael Blake Day-Lewis, often described as one of the greatest actors in the history of cinema, is known for his incredible ability to fully embody the characters he portrays. Born on April 29, 1957 in London, England to a Jewish mother and Irish father, Day-Lewis honed his acting skills at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He is known for his devotion to his roles, often staying in character throughout the entirety of filming. His roles range from his Academy Award-winning performances in 'My Left Foot' (1989), 'There Will Be Blood' (2007), and 'Lincoln' (2012), to his roles in 'Gangs of New York' (2002) and 'Phantom Thread' (2017).
