Christopher Whitelaw Pine, well known as Chris Pine, is an American actor, born on August 26, 1980. Known for his various roles in Hollywood, Pine rose to prominence through the romantic comedies 'The Princess Diaries 2' (2004) and 'Just My Luck' (2006). His acting profile expanded with characters like Cinderella's Prince in 'Into the Woods' (2014), Jack Ryan in 'Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit' (2014), Bernie Webber in 'The Finest Hours' (2016), and Robert the Bruce in 'Outlaw King' (2018). Pine's directorial debut came with 'Poolman' (2023). He is remembered for his roles as James T. Kirk in the Star Trek reboot film series (2009–2016) and Steve Trevor in the DC Extended Universe films Wonder Woman (2017) and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020).

Pine was born in Los Angeles, California, into an acting family; his father, Robert Pine, is an actor who co-starred on CHiPs, while his mother, Gwynne Gilford, is a former actress turned psychotherapist. Pine graduated from the University of California, Berkeley in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in English. His first acting role was in a 2003 episode of ER; he then featured in several films and TV shows. Pine's career took off with the 2009 Star Trek film, earning him critical and viewer acclaim. In 2011, he had a meaningful chat with William Shatner, the original Captain Kirk, for the documentary 'The Captains'. He continued to deliver powerful performances, propelling his career onwards.
