Born on 17 June 1966 in Crest, Drôme, France, he has become well known for his wide spanning repertoire. Several of his notable works include L'Ennui (1998), which is an adaptation of the Alberto Moravia novel Boredom, and Red Lights (2004), another adaptation piece based on a novel by Georges Simenon. His formidable talent isn't only limited to screenwriting and directing, Kahn also showcases his skills in front of the camera. Notably, his film Roberto Succo was not only a commercial success but also garnered him recognition as it was entered into the prestigious 2001 Cannes Film Festival. Moreover, Kahn isn't just involved in the film industry, he is also an active participant in the political conversations around the world. Testament to this fact, in December 2023, Kahn took a stance by signing an open letter published in Libération. This letter, which was co-signed by 50 other filmmakers, demanded a ceasefire and an end to the killing of civilians amid the 2023 Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip. It also called for a humanitarian corridor into Gaza to be established for humanitarian aid, and the release of hostages.
