Camille Aguilar

Camille Aguilar Villar‑Genuino (born January 25, 1985) is a prominent Filipino broadcaster‑turned‑politician who has rapidly ascended the ranks of the nation’s political landscape. Raised in a politically influential family—her father Manny Villar and mother Cynthia Villar both served as senators—Camille was steeped in public service from an early age. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the Ateneo de Manila University and later an MBA from IESE Business School in Barcelona, equipping her with a solid foundation in both corporate strategy and governance. After completing her studies, she entered the business world as the youngest Chief Operating Officer of Brittany Corporation, a subsidiary of the expansive Vista Land group, and later took on the role of Managing Director, showcasing her acumen in corporate leadership.

In 2012, she transitioned to media, co‑hosting Wil Time Bigtime and Wowowillie, where her charisma and communication skills earned her a nationwide following. Leveraging this visibility, she entered electoral politics in 2019, winning the Las Piñas at‑large congressional seat with an overwhelming 89.78 % of the vote. During her tenure in the House of Representatives, Villar served twice as Deputy Speaker (2021‑2022 and 2022‑2025), navigated high‑profile legislative battles such as the 2020 ABS‑CBN franchise vote, and faced scrutiny over alleged vote‑buying—a charge later dismissed by the COMELEC.
