She grew up as the daughter of Lester Balaski, a professional jockey, and originally aspired to follow his path before discovering a passion for performance. After completing her secondary education, she attended Colorado Women’s College and later majored in drama at Parsons College, where she honed the skills that would launch her onto the screen. Her early exposure to the entertainment world was shaped by a blend of rigorous theatrical training and a family background steeped in the discipline of sport, giving her a unique work ethic that would serve her well in the demanding world of film and television.
