Belinda Balaski

Belinda Balaski (born December 8, 1947) is an American actress whose career spans more than four decades, beginning in the mid‑1970s and continuing into the present day. She grew up as the daughter of Lester Balaski, a professional jockey, and originally aspired to follow his path before discovering a passion for performance. After completing her secondary education, she attended Colorado Women’s College and later majored in drama at Parsons College, where she honed the skills that would launch her onto the screen. Her early exposure to the entertainment world was shaped by a blend of rigorous theatrical training and a family background steeped in the discipline of sport, giving her a unique work ethic that would serve her well in the demanding world of film and television. In addition to her formal studies, Balaski earned recognition on stage, winning the Los Angeles Drama Critics Award for Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Emma Duckworth in a production of Bus Stop at the Los Angeles Metropolitan Theatre, a performance that opened doors to television opportunities.
