Algee Smith IV is a renowned American actor and singer, widely acclaimed for portraying roles such as Ralph Tresvant in BET's The New Edition Story miniseries and Larry Reed in Kathryn Bigelow's award-winning film Detroit. Additionally, he is recognized for his role as Christopher 'Chris' McKay in the HBO drama series Euphoria. Smith kicked off his acting career in Atlanta after relocating from Michigan at the age of eight. With the support of his parents – an occultist father and a fashion designer mother – he grew his passion for the arts and made his first rap recording when he was just nine years old. He delved into acting through minor television roles, perfecting his craft. At 20, he moved to Los Angeles for broader opportunities. His notable appearances include projects like Disney's Let It Shine and Earth to Echo before he landed a significant role in The New Edition Story that showcased his acting, singing, and dancing skill.
