Alec Newman

**Alec Newman**, known by his full name **Mark Alexander Newman**, is a critically acclaimed and diverse actor. Born on 27 November 1974 in Glasgow, Scotland, his early life transitioned from Scotland to Berkshire at the age of four. Though he considered becoming a professional footballer, Newman found his calling in theatre arts after joining the National Youth Theatre in London at age 17. He went on to get trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). Newman's acting career spans over decades since 1991, encompassing a wide range of roles on TV, Film, and Theatre. He is best recognized for playing Paul Atreides in the Sci Fi channel's 2000 miniseries adaptation of Frank Herbert's Dune. He also stood out for his performance in Cyberpunk 2077 and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. In addition, he took on the lead role in the acclaimed series Still Wakes the Deep, where he played Cameron "Caz" McLeary. Newman got wide attention for his performances, especially in US TV and Film, where he grabbed a role in a WB reboot of Dark Shadows and led an all-star cast in the 2004 hallmark version of Frankenstein. The latter performance won him an Emmy. Known for his versatility, he made memorable performances while appearing on Amazon's Rogue, HBO's Strike Back, and the BBC's Showtrial and Karen Pirie. Besides his on-screen roles, Newman is a successful voice artist, lending his voice to popular video games like Cyberpunk 2077, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, and Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga.
