Immutable Ledger

A tamper-resistant data record where entries cannot be altered once committed.

An immutable ledger is a data structure—often implemented via blockchain—that ensures once data is recorded in a block, it cannot be changed or deleted without detection. Cryptographic hashing and consensus mechanisms guarantee the integrity and chronological ordering of entries.
