Valley of the Sasquatch 2015

After his wife dies, Roger Crew forces his son Michael Crew to go on a hunting trip in rural Washington. When they reach their cabin, they find it broken into and a mess to clean up. Family friend Sergio Guerrero and Roger’s brother-in-law Will Marx stop by, and while tensions rise because Michael and Will clash with Sergio, the group still decides to head out for a hunt the next day.

On the hunting trip, Sergio stumbles upon blood and unrecognizable body parts, visibly shaken by the find. A strange howling echoes through the forest, and Sergio suggests it’s a bear, though Roger insists there are no bears on that mountain. While relieving himself, Sergio is charged by an unseen creature and shoots at it, but no trace of the attacker is found. The mood grows tenser as Sergio pushes for a return to the cabin, but Roger opts to set up camp for the night. As they move, a creature steps onto the path and watches them, a tense sentinel in the darkness.

Michael, to his dismay, discovers there are no tents to sleep in, yet Roger remains confident they’ll be safe. In the conversation that follows, Sergio realizes that the creature he saw must be a Sasquatch. Roger scoffs at the theory, while Will recounts an old story of a group who were attacked by unseen beings while staying at a cabin in the area nearly a century earlier. That night, Michael wakes to the sound of rummaging as Sasquatches descend on the camp. Sergio and Roger open fire, and the creatures vanish back into the night. The group pursues them, but Roger is taken. Sergio, Will, and Michael flee back to the cabin while being pursued by the creatures. An altercation between Will and Sergio erupts, and Will is stabbed to death. Fearing for his safety, Michael knocks Sergio out.

A while later, a stranger comes knocking at the door. He introduces himself as Bauman, who explains that a few days earlier he ventured up the mountain in search of a gold mine and was abducted by the Sasquatches. He claims the creatures kept him alive in their cave for a time, and that he managed to escape after killing one of them. This story prompts Michael to speculate that Roger might still be alive as well, and he urges them to find him.

Guided by Bauman, Michael locates a cave where Roger—still alive but with a broken leg—is found. They retreat to the cabin, but two Sasquatches assault them. Bauman is killed in the skirmish, and Michael and Roger enlist Sergio to help hold the creatures at bay. In a pivotal moment, Roger sacrifices Sergio to the Sasquatches to buy time for Michael and himself to reach the pickup truck.

As they make their way to safety, the last of the Sasquatches closes in. Roger manages to kill one of them, enraging the remaining creature. It advances toward Roger, but Michael—holding Roger’s gun—stops and chooses mercy, sparing the last Sasquatch. The creature retreats into the woods, and the two survivors drive away, leaving the forest with a haunting sense of mercy amid brutal violence.
