Undisputed III: Redemption 2010

Yuri Boyka [Scott Adkins] is no longer the undefeated force he once was, standing now as a prison janitor who keeps his body in peak shape while secretly chasing a chance at freedom. Years after his defeat by George “Iceman” Chambers, he catches wind of the Prison Spetz Competition (PSC), an inter-prison fight tournament that promises an early release for its winner. With a knee injury lingering, he trains in private, shaving away his long hair and beard as a ritual of renewed focus, and then throws down a challenge to the PSC’s reigning champion, Vladimir Sykov [Esteban Cueto], a test that ends with Boyka defeating Sykov and earning the title of the Russian representative.

At the Gorgon prison in Georgia, Boyka enters a harsh world where fighters from around the globe are kept under brutal conditions. He meets Warden Kuss [Hristo Shopov], who oversees the grim quarry where the inmates toil while a favored Colombian fighter, Raul “Dolor” Quinones [Marko Zaror], receives special treatment and drugs. A volatile clash with the American contender Jericho “Turbo” Jones [Mykel Shannon Jenkins] quickly evolves into a grudging respect, and the two men begin to train together, sharing a stubborn drive to survive in a game that feels rigged from the start.

Boyka soon uncovers the brutal truth: the PSC is fixed for profit, with Dolor positioned to win no matter what. He confronts the organizers with the support of mob bosses Gaga [Mark Ivanir] and Farnatti [Robert Costanzo], forcing a dangerous confrontation that unsettles the entire operation. As the tournament pushes forward, Boyka and Turbo advance alongside Dolor and Brazilian fighter Rodrigo Silva, while the losers are dragged away to a secluded spot where they are executed, a chilling reminder of what’s at stake.

After a brutal turn, Turbo and Boyka are tossed into solitary confinement following a brutal fight, only to be released thanks to the influential reach of their managers. Warden Kuss pushes Gaga and Farnatti to liquidate their assets and bet everything on Dolor, underscoring how little these men care about the fighters themselves and how far they are willing to go for money. Realizing the managers’ obsession with profit, Boyka resolves to derail Dolor’s ascent and win on his own terms.

In the semi-finals, Boyka defeats Silva with a hard-earned show of respect, a moment that contrasts with the grim fate that awaits the losers—the secluded area where Silva is later shot dead. The organizers order Turbo to be crushed by guards, and though Turbo fights with the grit he has managed to muster, it’s clear he wouldn’t outpace Dolor in their upcoming clash. With the help of inmates who reveal a stark truth—that fighters who lose tend to disappear—Boyka and Turbo improvise a plan to fight their way out, even staging a daring assault in the quarry to help Turbo escape.

Captured again, Boyka is forced to face Dolor in the final round. Dolor surges ahead, exploiting Boyka’s vulnerable knee and forcing him out of the ring. Yet Boyka digs deep, adopting a blood-soaked pad as a brace and unveiling a new fighting approach that catches the crowd and the organizers by surprise. In a decisive moment, he cripples Dolor by breaking his tibia after a failed leg check, turning the bettors’ fortunes and the entire match on its head.

The fallout is chaotic. Farnatti storms into the Wardens’ office with a kill order on Kuss, killing Rezo and his bodyguard before being shot dead by Kuss himself. Boyka’s moment of fleeting freedom is crushed when he’s hauled away for his role in Turbo’s escape, but Turbo—the man behind the chaos—steps in to rescue him by killing Kuss and the guards.

In a twist that reconstructs the power dynamic, Gaga reveals he had bets placed on Boyka all along, a revelation that reframes the entire PSC’s purpose. The film closes on a note of hard-won kinship and unresolved rivalry: Boyka and Turbo part ways, each chasing a future clash, while Boyka walks toward a possible freedom with the prize money in hand. Turbo drops his real name, Jericho, into the air as a sign that their destinies remain linked, and Boyka’s laughter fills the air as he strides toward whatever comes next on the road to true liberation.
