Saravana Perumal [Prabhu] is a wealthy salt trader and iron businessman living in Thoothukudi, where his fortunes set him apart from the competitive world of Tirunelveli, drawing a sharp line between him and his arch rivals Subbayya and his son Vellathurai. The tension between these factions ripples through every decision, and at the center of it all is Sakunthaladevi Saravanaperumal [Nadhiya], a formidable figure whose past and present intertwine with Saravana Perumal’s ambitions. Bharani Puthiran [Vishal Krishna], Saravanan’s nephew and heir, has finished his studies and moves through life with a circle of carefree friends, while Bhanumathy, known as Bhanu [Muktha George], a college student from Bharani’s alma mater, becomes increasingly drawn to him and follows him wherever he goes. The romance, however, is complicated by a startling revelation: Bhanu is Sakunthaladevi’s daughter, and Bharani’s initial reaction is hesitation and distrust as he tries to reconcile affection with the realities of a divided family.

A fateful trip to the isolated Nallathanni Theevu island becomes a flashpoint. Bhanu travels to meet Bharani, and their presence, misinterpreted by coast guards as prostitution, triggers a dramatic arrest. Although the local police quickly release them—thanks to Bharani’s influence—one intrepid press reporter seizes the moment to publish a sensational story, stoking Subbayya’s anger and deepening the rift with Saravana Perumal. Subbayya and Vellathurai misread the scene, blaming Saravanan for orchestrating the trap, and they vow to eliminate him. The danger forces Saravanan to flee, but the threat does not end there: Bharani, urged by anger and loyalty, confronts Vellathurai and, in a brutal moment, accidentally hurts Selvam, Vellathurai’s kindhearted younger brother. The guilt over this act weighs heavily on Bharani, even as his love for Bhanu remains.

In a crucial turn, Saravanan uncovers the core truth that reshapes every motive and motive-meets-motive conflict: Sakunthaladevi is Saravanan’s estranged wife, and Bhanu is his daughter. The revelation reframes the entire history of their feuding and forces Bharani to reassess his loyalties. The tale of wounded pride is further complicated by Sakunthaladevi’s past disapproval of Saravanan’s widowed sister, and the way Bhanu’s presence in their lives was interpreted as an attempt to force a nuclear family arrangement. With Bharani’s growing understanding, he and Bhanu begin to reconnect, and Bharani resolves to help reunite Saravanan and Sakunthaladevi, even as the family dynamics strain under the weight of long-buried secrets.

Meanwhile, Karmegam [Sampath Raj], an associate who works for Vellathurai, reveals his own scheming desire to marry Sakunthaladevi in order to seize her wealth. Vellathurai agrees to the plan without fully telling his family, and Bharani discovers the arrangement just in time to intervene. The confrontation drives a wedge between Sakunthaladevi and her brother, who takes a strong stand against the marriage proposal. A violent confrontation ensues, and in the chaos Karmegam is believed dead after Bharani’s intervention, landing Bharani in prison. The wound of the false accusation drives Sakunthaladevi to reevaluate her own actions; she finally recognizes the depth of Bharani’s character and the sacrifices he has made in defense of the family.

As the years pass, the couple Saravanan and Sakunthaladevi begin to rebuild what was broken, and four years later Bharani is released from prison. He returns home to find wedding arrangements underway for Bhanu, but he refuses to go along with the plan as things stand; he also points to Subbayya and Vellathurai’s lingering anger over the Selvam incident and suggests Bhanu might be better suited for Selvam. It’s a pivotal moment that leads Sakunthaladevi to reveal a larger truth: it was she who killed Karmegam, and Bharani had taken the blame to protect her. Overhearing this confession, Subbayya and Vellathurai come to see Bharani’s true nature—the steadfast loyalty and willingness to shoulder hardship for family.

In the end, love and forgiveness prevail. Bharani and Bhanu marry, and with their union, the fractured clan finds its way back to harmony. The family’s ties are mended as the truth that once threatened to pull them apart becomes the foundation that binds them together once more. The story closes on a note of reconciliation and renewed trust, with the younger generation stepping into a shared future while the older generation learns to let go of past grievances.
