Agnès Géraldine Asselin is the author of the popular children’s book series The Kingdom of Winds and is drafting a new chapter about Sirocco the wind magician, a figure who once created wooden toys to ease his loneliness but, in a moment of lingering sadness, unleashed a storm upon the Kingdom. As she puts the finishing touches on the tale, two visits arrive: Juliette Loïse Charpentier and Carmen Maryne Bertieaux, dropped off by their mother to spend the weekend under Agnès’s care. Exhausted from a night spent writing, Agnès drifts into a nap while the two girls amuse themselves and explore the world Agnès has conjured on the page.

When Juliette reads through one of Agnès’s books, a wooden toy from the story—Sirocco the wind magician Pierre Lognay—falls out, having somehow been transported from the Kingdom. The toy summons a magical hopscotch that acts as a portal back, and an overjoyed Juliette chases it as Carmen hurries after her. The girls suddenly find themselves in a village within the Kingdom, and they discover they have been transformed into cats. Juliette, feeling buoyant about adventure, convinces Carmen to do some sightseeing for what happens to be Juliette’s birthday, but their curiosity quickly places them in trouble: they accidentally destroy a gift prepared for traveling opera singer Selma, the first major obstacle in their quest to return home. The toy is damaged in the scramble, preventing their timely return, and the village leader, acting as judge and guardian, condemns Carmen to marry his son and Juliette to be given to Selma as a replacement gift.

The twist of this predicament spurs Juliette to seek out Selma, and a budding bond forms between Selma and Juliette as they discuss the situation. Selma recalls a vague memory of Sirocco and realizes the toy might have come from him; a past meeting between them is hinted at before a mysterious storm intervened and separated them. With a resolve born of friendship, Selma Aurélie Konaté joins Juliette in a plan to rescue Carmen. The pair’s alliance deepens as they embark on a journey to locate Sirocco for help. Their path leads them into the Forbidden Lands, where Carmen and Selma become separated from Juliette and arrive at a colossal stone structure that begins to crumble and releases a mysterious creature—the storm itself.

In this moment of crisis, Selma deduces that Sirocco is not the maker of the storm but its jailer; his power is tied to a delicate balance of love and memory that Bind them across time. Juliette’s discovery of their arrival and Selma’s remembrance of their past connection destabilizes the storm’s hold, allowing the storm to break free in a surge of wind and chaos. The storm’s winds deal a heavy blow to Selma just as Sirocco and Juliette arrive on the scene. Sirocco uses the last of his power to revive Selma, making the ultimate sacrifice in the process. Through a combination of clever thinking, steadfast cooperation, and the residual strength of Sirocco’s magic, Selma and the others manage to neutralize the storm and save the Kingdom. In the aftermath, Selma succeeds in guiding Juliette and Carmen back to their world, where time seems to have passed only a little.

Back home, Juliette, Carmen, and Agnès gather to celebrate Juliette’s birthday and consider the tradition of making birthday cake wishes. Juliette whispers her wish to see Selma again and to have Sirocco return. As if answering from the wind itself, a gust carries Sirocco’s visage, briefly appearing in the room to help extinguish the candles and suggesting that the wishes may come true. The moment leaves a sense of quiet hope that the world of winds and toys may still hold more adventures for Juliette, Carmen, and their new ally, Selma.

In a quiet corner of the everyday world, two sisters find themselves thrust into an adventure far beyond anything they could have imagined. Juliette and Carmen, left in the care of a familiar author, stumble upon an enchanted toy that opens a portal to a realm where magic reigns and the impossible becomes routine. What begins as innocent curiosity quickly becomes a journey into the unknown—one that will test their bond and challenge everything they thought they understood about stories and the worlds hidden within them.

The Kingdom of Winds welcomes them not as visitors, but as something far stranger: the sisters are transformed into cats, forced to navigate a land where the sky itself holds dangers and wonder in equal measure. This vibrant, fantastical world overflows with peculiar creatures and breathtaking landscapes, yet beneath its beauty lies an undercurrent of mystery. Soaring dragons rule the open air, and the wind carries whispers of secrets long kept. For two children suddenly stripped of their human forms, every step is a discovery—and a potential misstep.

Finding a way home is the sisters’ ultimate goal, but the path is far from straightforward. They must unravel the mysteries woven into the fabric of this world, understanding its rules and navigating its perils before their time runs out. Along the way, they encounter figures who may be allies, obstacles, or something in between, each carrying their own history within the Kingdom’s windswept expanse. The boundaries between story and reality blur as Juliette and Carmen discover that the tale they’ve entered is far more complex—and far more urgent—than any book could have prepared them for.

Rich with imagination and animated with a sense of boundless possibility, the film weaves together themes of sisterhood, wonder, and the courage it takes to find one’s way through a world that refuses to be easily understood. The clock is ticking, and the winds are rising—but some journeys are worth every moment of uncertainty.
