The film opens with an orphaned boy, Krishna Rajendra Prasad, who works as a servant in a house. When the owner bribes a corrupt cop to frame him for his wife’s murder, Krishna is sent to juvenile detention. In captivity, he befriends a compassionate warden who nudges him toward a path of integrity, hoping he will one day become a police officer who can reform the system and shield others from the same injustice.

Years pass, and Krishna rises to become an Inspector, guided by the warden’s steady counsel. He soon finds himself under the scrutinizing eye of the vicious Circle Inspector Purushotham, a figure who represents a corrupt side of policing alongside a cadre of outcasts. Krishna’s ambition is clear: reach the IPS and wield real power to curb crime. Yet the road is rocky, and moral compromises shadow every step.

A typist named Sarma comes forward with harassment allegations, but Purushotham closes the case through a backroom payoff. When Sarma leaks the situation to the media, journalist Satya Satya Prakash becomes involved, and Purushotham retaliates by assaulting Sarma and destroying his typing machine. Disturbed by the wrongdoing, Krishna buys a new typewriter for Sarma to restore calm, and Satya grows to respect his character; the two eventually form a bond.

Purushotham later assigns Krishna to chase a gangster armed with an eight-bullet revolver, hinting at a broader arms-smuggling ring that evades easy crackdown. Krishna traces the underworld to Babloo Yadav, a ruthless Don, and even captures Siva, a pickpocket who had snagged Krishna’s gun with Satya’s help. Siva hands the weapon to a gun dealer, and Krishna’s pursuit escalates as the gun changes hands again, slipping into the hands of a buyer who fuels the cycle of crime.

With the revolver in his possession, Krishna becomes entangled in a bank robbery that brings together Raju, a taxi driver Josh Ravi, and Husain, Babloo’s right-hand man. A tragedy follows: a little girl, Shreya, dies as a result of a bullet traced back to the police gun. Satya’s reputation wobbles as she leaks Krishna’s case to the press, prompting his suspension and forcing the department to appoint Paramjyothi Harshavardhan to lead the inquiry, though he secretly respects Krishna’s honesty and sides with him.

Meanwhile, Krishna Murthy—the steadfast constable who has spent his career with integrity—fights a system that has neglected him. He has suffered personal losses: provident fund benefits and loans denied, and his wife’s death that leaves him to raise Prakash and Gayatri. Raju’s Dubai dream drives him further into crime, while Husain develops a complicated relationship with Babloo’s wife, Maha Pavani Reddy, pulling him deeper into the thefts.

On Maha’s birthday, Husain uses fresh note bundles to buy a necklace, despite Krishna Murthy’s objections. In a jewelry shop, the necklace’s serial numbers reveal Husain’s true ties to Babloo’s gang. Paramjyothi presses the Babloo case, and Krishna hunts Husain, exposing the link to Maha and Babloo and taunting Babloo in the process. Babloo dies in a subsequent encounter, and Husain’s attempt to escape leads to a backstabbing bid against Krishna Murthy—only to have Raju flee and surrender to the police.

To trap the killer, Paramjyothi and Krishna plot to bait Raju, but fate strikes again when Raju becomes the target of the next gunshot. A striking incident at a departmental inquiry brings Krishna Murthy and Krishna into an uneasy, unknowable proximity; Krishna Murthy faints, and Krishna consoles him, while Krishna senses a tail on the dealer and eliminates him in a calculated act. A portion of the stolen money is shared with Krishna Murthy’s children, and the two Krishnas momentarily find common ground in their grief.

Krishna Murthy seeks vengeance by assassinating the Provident Fund officer who harmed him, and Krishna uncovers that Krishna Murthy’s proposed action had already been sanctioned. The pursuit takes a grim turn as Purushotham trails to a bank, attempting another robbery and meeting his end at Krishna Murthy’s hands, the money scattered on the street. In a tense moment, Paramjyothi holds Krishna Murthy’s grandson Rakesh at gunpoint; cross-firing erupts, and Krishna escapes with his weapon as Paramjyothi is cornered.

Crushed by the weight of truth and guilt, Krishna Murthy pleads for mercy—he is terminally ill with cancer and reveals that his life’s work has been driven by a desperate wish to secure his family’s future. He confesses his own crimes and the heavy cost they exacted. Krishna confronts the reality of his dual legacy: his attempts to eradicate delinquents like Purushotham and the provident fund officer, tempered by the bloodshed his actions caused.

In the film’s quiet closing, Maha continues running her roadside canteen, and Siva advances toward a brighter future under Krishna’s mentorship. Paramjyothi begins to admire Krishna’s moral resolve as the two men confront the consequences of their choices. The final scene finds Krishna riding alongside Satya Satya Prakash; at a stoplight, he glimpses the employer who once framed him on the street, a stark reminder that truth, though costly, endures.
