Secret Service of the Air 1939

An undercover Secret Service agent uncovers a dangerous ring that illegally transports Mexicans into the United States by air. When he confronts the pilot on one of these flights, the plane suddenly climbs, hurling the agent into the cabin. In a final dangerous move, the pilot pulls a lever that opens the cabin floor, sending the agent and six illegal entrants plummeting to their deaths and underscoring the brutality of the operation.

To dismantle the network, the boss of the unit, Tom Saxby, needs a skilled pilot to go undercover. He turns to a former military and commercial pilot who has applied to join the Secret Service, Brass Bancroft, a resourceful flyer with a sharp eye for danger. Brass finds himself pulled into the case after a trumped-up charge of counterfeiting lands him in a jail cell with the smuggling ring’s enforcer, Ace Hamrick. From this grim starting point, Brass learns that the smugglers are using the Los Angeles Air Taxi Company as their front, a detail that will shape his next moves.

With the regular pilot arrested by Saxby’s maneuverings, Brass lands a spot at the air taxi company and teams up with his loyal radio operator, Gabby Watters. The duo quickly becomes the key to infiltrating the operation as Brass works his way into the cockpit and earns the trust of the ring’s mastermind, Jim Cameron.
