The gang arrives in Petit Chauve Sourie Ville for the vampire festival and meets festival organizer Lita Rutland, who explains that tourism is down and funds are dwindling. They also encounter Vincent Van Helsing, a vampire museum owner and author whose books aren’t selling. The stage is set for a publicity-driven weekend.

Midnight Performance and a Resurrection

At the festival theatre, the troupe pledges lifelong devotion to the vampire lifestyle and promises a dramatic performance. Bram announces a resurrection ritual, and the group unexpectedly brings back Valdroyna on stage, who then takes flight. The audience reacts with astonishment as the illusion turns real.

The Missing Bridal Jewelry

Back at the vampire museum, the bridal jewelry and the body behind Valdroyna vanish, while the tomb remains sealed. The team senses a staged mystery and begins to suspect foul play beyond a simple publicity stunt. Clues point toward a real, manipulated ritual rather than a purely theatrical one.

Media Spins and Political Ambitions

Lita Rutland pushes a phony attack story to exploit the vampire angle for publicity. Separately, Jesper Poubelle gains media exposure as he campaigns to become mayor, using the vampire spectacle to boost his anti-vampire platform. The festival buzz serves multiple agendas beyond entertainment.

Valdroyna Attacks the Mystery Machine

On the return trip, Valdroyna clings to the top of the Mystery Machine and slips inside through the skylight. Daphne tears a piece of fabric from his sleeve in a hurry, and Velma uses a low tunnel to shake him off the van. The chase underscores that the monster’s threats are more than mere theater.

Swamp Chase and Tulsa's Revelation

That evening, Shaggy and Scooby are chased into the swamp by Valdroyna, and Shaggy worries he’s been bitten. There they meet Tulsa, the hover-shoe inventor, who reveals his designs were stolen by vampires and forced into hiding. The swamp becomes a crossroads of mystery and technology.

Fred, Daphne, and Velma discover Valdroyna’s clothing is made from modern fabric, while Van Helsing insists the original material would have disintegrated. Arrests and Aftermath

The sheriff arrests Van Helsing and the troupe’s actors for their roles in the hoax. Bram apologizes to Daphne, who remains cool and rejects his attempt at dating him, noting she never dates actors. The town begins to see the financial consequences of the sham spectacle.
