Ramsingh (also known as Charlie) works in Jango Circus, where his signature act—mimicking Charlie Chaplin—remains the troupe’s crowd-pleasing centerpiece. He grew up in the motif of circus life, following in the footsteps of his father, who was a clown, and he passes down the trade to his school-going son, shaping a family tradition rooted in performance. His wife Kajri also performs with the troupe, and she is now expecting a second child, adding a layer of urgency to their everyday balance between art and family. Together, they travel a path that blends showmanship with perseverance, trying to keep the magic of the circus alive in a changing world.

But the modern era brings new realities. Digital media exposes a shift in fortune, and the aging, once-thriving circus becomes a non-profit venture that struggles to sustain itself. Masterji, who runs the circus, faces pressure from her son Nabeel to shut down the operation, leaving all the artists adrift and scrambling for stable work in a landscape that favors contemporary entertainment over old-school spectacle.

With Kajri’s pregnancy looming, Ramsingh decides to move their younger child to the village in hopes of easing the family’s financial strain. He then secures a job with an event company and quickly befriends Shahjahan, a fellow facilitator in show business. For a bit of lighthearted entertainment, they stage an unusual cricket act where performers dress as oversized chickens, turning the field into a playful arena. During one match, Ramsingh, parched from thirst, removes his costume to drink water, and the crowd of children watching erupts into boos, prompting the organizers to terminate his engagement without payment. Shahjahan steps in to help, enabling him to land a job as a rickshaw puller in Kolkata, where life takes on a new rhythm and pace.

Kajri later gives birth to a daughter, and upon her return, she is surprised to learn of Ramsingh’s new line of work and his struggle with drinking. In a school event, their young son Chintu decides to step into the spotlight by performing as Charlie; Ramsingh joins him on stage, rekindling a partnership with his child that feels like a second chance at the life he once cherished. After the act, he thanks Kajri for reawakening a life of artistic expression that he had nearly forgotten.

Eager to restart the circus, Ramsingh reaches out to Nabeel for support. He discovers that Masterji has passed away, a blow that shades the future of the troupe. Nabeel agrees to help by charging 1.5 Lakh rupees to secure the necessary materials, while Shahjahan lends 92 thousand rupees to cover initial costs. Ramsingh’s friend Cut faces a brutal beating from a bully who mocks his dwarfness, and Ramsingh uses the money from Shahjahan to pay his hospital bills. In a gesture that signals a turning point, Nabeel eventually offers all supplies at no cost, choosing to back the revival of the circus. Yet tragedy strikes again when Cut succumbs to injuries, a loss that casts a pall over the new venture and prompts Shahjahan to frown upon the enterprise. In the end, Ramsingh steps away from the reimagined circus, never to return to the old life in the same way.

Today, Chintu has grown into a young performer who graces the stage with his own act, and he openly credits his father for instilling in him the courage and ambition to chase artistic dreams. The story circles back to the enduring bond between parent and child, a testament to how art and family intertwine to carry a legacy forward, even when the world around them has changed beyond recognition.
