Jeeva, played by M. Sasikumar, is a passionate socialist who speaks out against issues in his village with his friends, Sengodi (Anjali), Priya, and Pandi (Bharani). Sengodi is a doctor; Priya is studying to become a Sub-Inspector of Police. After a shocking video of an honour killing goes online, Jeeva organizes a massive gathering of people who reject caste prejudices and urges them to dress in red as a bold stand against age-old hierarchies. This fearless act sets off a clash with the local caste chieftain and his aiders, who hide among the crowd as both reddened rioters and fake police. A violent riot erupts among the youth, shaking the village and sending shockwaves through every family touched by the conflict.

The chaos reaches Jeeva’s family when his uncle and mother cancel an arranged alliance with a prospective partner for a consequence they fear from the unrest. In parallel, Priya achieves a historic milestone by becoming the first transgender Sub-Inspector of Police, and she reunites with parents who had disowned her years earlier. With the engagement dropped, Jeeva’s uncle arranges a new match with Sowmya, a girl from the neighboring village of Keeripatti. Sowmya, played by Athulya Ravi, captivates Jeeva at first sight, and the couple soon marry, choosing love over caste codes.

On the wedding night, however, Sowmya reveals a painful truth. She has attempted to end her life by slitting her wrists and confesses that her own parents forced her into the marriage with Jeeva, threatening the life of her true love if she refused. The man she loves belongs to a different caste, and he does not want to be a casualty of caste politics either. Moved by her honesty, Jeeva resolves to bring the two lovers together and arrange for their marriage to the man she truly loves. In a quiet act of defiance against social norms, he makes sure their bond can exist freely, and the couple finally join hands.

Yet the village remains stirred by the upheaval. Jeeva’s actions ignite a fierce confrontation with caste supporters, and Sengodi’s father, Tamilarasan, leaps into danger to shield him. Amid the turmoil, the lovers continue to elude pressure and seek safety. They hide at Selfie Chinnamani’s house in the village, where circumstances push the couple to move to Thrissur for a time, with Selfie Chinnamani’s help. The elder friends in Jeeva’s circle urge the couple and their families to see beyond caste, and the truth about their relationship begins to shift the town’s mood.

As the fight against caste prejudice gains momentum, Jeeva’s inner circle — including Sengodi — begins to embrace a path that echoes their shared beliefs. Priya is transferred back to Jeeva’s village, and she joins the effort to push for justice under the law. The couple continues to advocate for equality, and they push to hold a no-caste convention at the Madras High Court after the district court rejects their plea. The movement grows, and Sowmya becomes pregnant, causing mixed feelings of hope and loneliness as she worries about being understood by those who long for caste lines to remain intact.

When trouble returns, Sowmya’s relatives intensify their search across South India for the couple. The villagers are determined to force them apart, and the chieftain’s faction funds a plan to eliminate the couple as a statement against “no caste.” Priya uncovers the plot and reveals it to Jeeva, who then acts to protect them. In a brutal confrontation in the city center, two hired henchmen brutally assault the couple. Jeeva and Paandi intervene just in time, loading the attackers onto a coach and guiding the couple to a hospital through a harrowing escape along the Dindigul highway. Vikram Anand informs Sengodi that the couple is recovering in the hospital, and Jeeva faces the attackers without hesitation, choosing not to escalate further violence.

Two years pass, and the legal fight bears fruit: the court grants permission to hold a no-caste convention for people opposing caste divisions. The couple, now with a baby girl, find happiness together with Sengodi, who also thrives in her partnership with Jeeva as they share a daughter of their own. Sowmya and her husband begin a new life, protected by a community that has learned to resist caste-based pressures. The story closes with the sense that trust, mutual respect, and steadfast resistance to discrimination can transform a village and reshape the futures of families bound by love rather than lineage.
