The attacker is revealed to be Jimmy

The shape killed by David is revealed to be Jimmy tied up and made to look like the attacker. This twist shows that the immediate danger was manufactured to mislead the family. Emily's fear deepens as the situation grows more perilous.

Truck driver rescue and the attacker kills him
