Years ago, the youngest brother, Gajendra, stabbed a judge to tilt a case in favor of his three elder siblings, a calculated act that would set them free. In a surprising turn of loyalty, the brothers rebranded themselves as the Gajendra brothers, while Gajendra served a ten-year prison term for the stabbing. Today, those brothers have grown into feared gangsters roaming through Madurai, their reputation built on violence and intimidation. Meanwhile, a teenage girl named Thenmozhi finds herself trapped inside their house, constantly watched and with no obvious way out. In a desperate bid for help, she begins to leave pleas on ₹50 notes and scatters them in places she hopes someone might find. Her plan is quickly uncovered, and she is captured, leaving her messages unanswered and her hope dim.

On the other side of the city, Azhagar and his close-knit group rally to support their friend Eswaran, who is struggling to reclaim ₹18.50 lakhs from debtors who attacked him and refuse to pay. Among the debtors is Vaazhaithoppu Maari, who owes ₹1.75 lakhs; when Maari balks at paying, Azhagar cuts off his thumb, knowing Maari’s diabetes would make the injury severe. Humiliation follows as Maari’s henchmen target Azhagar, but the debt is eventually settled to avoid further trouble. News of Azhagar’s fearless defiance spreads, and more debtors begin to repay Eswaran out of fear. Sowmiya, Eswaran’s landlord, grows fond of Azhagar, though he remains playful and does not reciprocate her feelings. Thenmozhi, watching from a distance, sees Azhagar easily defeat the goons and starts to believe he could rescue her from the Gajendra brothers’ clutches. She wrongly assumes that the brothers fear a respected elder, Mookkaiyya, and tries to reach out to Azhagar, but her attempt is thwarted. When she tries to alert Azhagar, the Gajendra brothers send their henchmen to silence her, leading to a tense confrontation where Azhagar confronts the brothers and denies any involvement with Thenmozhi.

Seeing Thenmozhi’s plea on the ₹50 note, Azhagar resolves to intervene by threatening to marry Thenmozhi himself. He secretly meets her and learns more about her past. Thenmozhi recounts a moment from a temple festival at Chatrapatti, where she slapped Gajendra after he pinched her waist. Humiliated and enraged, Gajendra tried to abduct her, but she escaped. In the ensuing chase, Gajendra was struck by a speeding car driven by his own brothers, an accident that left him mentally unstable. The Gajendra brothers then hold Thenmozhi captive in their home, intending to force her to marry Gajendra once he recovers. But Azhagar soon realizes that it was he, not Gajendra, who had playfully pinched Thenmozhi’s waist—an act that set off the entire chain of events. Determined to set things right, Azhagar vows to rescue Thenmozhi from their clutches.

Azhagar and his friends set out to locate Thenmozhi’s parents, who are being held by the brothers, while the Gajendra brothers send their henchmen to abduct Azhagar’s father and grandmother in Alanganallur. The grandmother proves clever, guiding them to safety in Courtallam after a narrow escape. In Theni, Azhagar’s friends are captured and tortured to reveal his whereabouts. Azhagar pretends to be unconcerned about their fate, a ploy that convinces Rajendran to spare them. Vaazhaithoppu Maari spots Azhagar in a hospital, drawing the Gajendra brothers’ attention, and they move to attack him. In a fierce battle, Azhagar is captured, but his friends stage a distraction with fire-extinguisher-smoke to safeguard him. After several days of hospitalization, Azhagar quietly returns to Rajendra’s house, where he finally reunites with Thenmozhi and the two confess their love.

The Gajendra brothers break into Eswaran’s house again, wrongly assuming Azhagar is nearby, but they manage to flee just in time. Fearing for protection, Eswaran and his allies turn to Mookkaiyya, who agrees to mediate with the brothers. In a brutal turn of events, the brothers kill Mookkaiyya, shattering the fragile hope for a peaceful resolution. With a bold plan in mind, Azhagar pretends to accept the marriage to the mentally unstable Gajendra, using the ruse to lure the brothers into a trap. Thenmozhi urges the brothers to bring her parents to the venue, hoping for a chance to stage a rescue. The plan works—Thenmozhi’s parents arrive, and Azhagar and his friends, hiding in a nearby flower shop, strike. They fight their way out in a car, but the pursuit is relentless and intense.

A dramatic clash ensues as Azhagar overpowers the Gajendra brothers. Yet the car crash that follows seemingly cures Gajendra’s mental illness, and he regains his ferocity, launching another assault on Azhagar and his companions. Despite the renewed danger, Azhagar prevails and spares the brothers, but vengeance soon catches up: Mookkaiyya’s henchmen exact their own revenge, killing the four Gajendra brothers. The film closes on a hopeful note as Azhagar and Thenmozhi get married, with Thenmozhi finally understanding that it was she who triggered the series of events by the waist pinch that fateful day.
