Urvashi Theatres is formed and the first show ends in trouble

Mannar Mathai runs Urvashi Theatres with friends Gopalakrishnan and Balakrishnan. At the troupe's opening stage, Gopalakrishnan is cast as the villain and is supposed to slap the heroine Shakunthala, but he delivers a much harder slap, causing her to quit and take a film offer.

Search for a lead actress begins

With no lead actress available, Gopalakrishnan takes on the task of finding one, but his initial attempts fail to land the role. The troupe struggles to fill the vacancy as rehearsals continue.

Meera enters after a taxi rescue

While travelling in a taxi, a girl named Meera jumps in to commit suicide. Gopalakrishnan rescues her and brings her back to the Urvashi camp to recover.

Meera becomes lead actress and the hero plan

Meera regains consciousness and becomes the lead actress. To secure the hero role, Gopalakrishnan pretends she is his cousin, and she agrees to act only if he is made the hero.

The cousin lie is exposed and marriage happens

Balakrishnan brings Gopalakrishnan's mother to the camp to verify the cousin claim. Gopalakrishnan admits he lied about the relationship because he is in love with Meera, and they marry in front of the entire troupe.

Meera's second suicide attempt and memory reveal

After the marriage, Meera tries to commit suicide again by jumping into a well and suffers an electric shock, losing consciousness. She is taken to a doctor where she regains consciousness and reveals that she does not remember anyone from the troupe and that she is the wife of a wealthy businessman named Mahendra Varma.

Meera's connection to Mahendra Varma surfaces

Meera tells the troupe that she does not remember the members and that she is married to Mahendra Varma. They inform Mahendra Varma of the situation, and he takes her to his house.

Meera calls and a tragedy ensues

Later she calls Gopalakrishnan and threatens to commit suicide again; they rush to Mahendra Varma's house, but arrive too late and find that she had lit herself and died.

Three months later in Mangalore, Meera reappears

Three months later, in Mangalore, Balakrishnan spots a woman who looks like Meera on the roadside and they narrowly escape a mob assault. Meera then reappears at the troupe's house and reveals that she is not dead, and that her real name is Stella Fernandez, while Meera was the alias used by Mahendra Varma for his wife who died.

The truth about Meera and Stella revealed

Stella explains that Meera did not commit suicide but was killed by Mahendra Varma, who hired Stella to pose as Meera and to display suicidal tendencies. She outlines their plan to take Mahendra Varma to justice and seek revenge.

Forming a plan to expose Mahendra Varma

With the truth out, Gopalakrishnan, Balakrishnan, and Stella prepare a plan to bring Mahendra Varma to justice. They resolve to use Stella's information to gather solid evidence and corner him.

Kidnappings and ransom attempts

Mahendra Varma kidnaps Gopalakrishnan's mother and blackmails him to bring Stella to him. Simultaneously, Ramji Rao surfaces and abducts Stella, demanding money in exchange for her release.

A staged rescue and a dramatic exchange

Gopalakrishnan and Balakrishnan execute a rescue using their theatre skills to create diversions while Mathai carries a suitcase of money. They manage to rescue both Gopalakrishnan's mother and Stella.

Final showdown with Garvasees Aashan

Garvasees Aashan arrives with his gang to break Gopalakrishnan's leg in revenge for the earlier injury. Gopalakrishnan fools him by saying they are practicing drama and a fight breaks out between rival gangs.
