In ancient times, a powerful king summons a number of Leprechauns to guard his gold, a treasure that shines with a rain of legends and warnings. After the king’s death, the Leprechauns return to their places of origin, all except one who grows corrupted as the centuries grind on, consumed by the gold he still guards and the power it affords. The story hints at an age-old tension between devotion and greed, duty and desire, as the emerald glint of the treasure casts a longer shadow than anyone can foresee.

In the present-day city of Los Angeles, a pastor named Father Jacob, Willie C. Carpenter, discovers the ancient cache and imagines using the fortune to build a youth center that could change lives. But ambition collides with menace. After a perilous struggle, Jacob banishes the Leprechaun by splashing him with holy water laced with four-leaf clovers, a ritual that summons demonic hands to drag the creature underground. The act, however, exacts a fatal price for Jacob, who dies from his injuries even as the treasure changes hands and fates.

One year later, Emily Woodrow, Tangi Miller, and Lisa Duncan, Sherrie Jackson, seek meaning and luck through a clairvoyant named Esmerelda, Donzaleigh Abernathy. The fortuneteller offers a stern warning: wealth can come, but at a terrible cost, and it will awaken a great evil that must not be tempted. At a barbecue held at the abandoned youth center site, Emily, her friend Lisa, stoner companion Jamie Davis, Page Kennedy, and Rory Jackson, Laz Alonso, become part of a fateful moment when Emily falls through a concealed hole and uncovers the Leprechaun’s gold, cleverly hidden by Father Jacob years before.

The four friends split the treasure to fulfill their own fantasies, unaware that they have released the ancient evil into their world. The Leprechaun begins to stalk them, a predatory presence that escalates quickly—killing a guest at Jamie’s party with a brutal act using a bong and snatching one of the coins, which leads to Jamie’s arrest. At Emily’s beauty salon, the Leprechaun slays a regular customer, Doria, Vickilyn Reynolds, on the massage table and turns his attention to Emily herself. She escapes, warning Rory and the recently released Jamie, and they hurry to find Lisa.

Tragedy strikes again when Lisa is slain by the Leprechaun, who claws her in the stomach, leaving her body a grim reminder of the creature’s reach. Emily and Jamie want to return the gold, but Rory resists and makes off with it, only to find himself pursued by a relentless evil. When the Leprechaun confronts Rory’s life at his house and then at the police, the threat expands as Rory’s girlfriend Chanel, Keesha Sharp, becomes another casualty—the creature tears out her jaw to reclaim a coin, a brutal act that compounds the danger.

Rory and Emily escape the immediate danger and seek Esmeralda’s help. The clairvoyant counsels using four-leaf clovers against the Leprechaun, and Rory arms Jamie’s gun with clover-coated hollow-point bullets found in the stash of weed that Rory had previously sold. The team faces a tense showdown: the Leprechaun arrives just as the weapon fires, but the gun jams and gives the monster a moment to strike. Yet the trio—Emily, Rory, and Jamie—are not finished; they push forward toward a fragile plan to end the terror once and for all.

Esmeralda confronts the Leprechaun in a magical duel that tests every ounce of will and power she commands, while Rory and Emily devise a daring distraction. On the rooftop of the building, Rory fights the Leprechaun and is knocked unconscious, and Emily, in a pivotal moment of quick thinking, tosses some of the Leprechaun’s gold into wet concrete to draw its attention. She then lures the creature into the furnace below, where she discards the gold in a final act of sacrifice.

Believing the danger is over, Emily returns to Rory, only to find the danger renewed. The Leprechaun resumes the attack, knocking Emily off the roof and leaving her clinging to the edge. The Leprechaun taunts her as Rory fights back, firing the last bullets in his gun. With no more ammunition, Rory’s final strike buys Emily a moment of reprieve when she hurls the chest of coins at the creature, sending it tumbling into the wet concrete. The Leprechaun sinks beneath the surface, trapped once again with his gold.

In the aftermath, Emily and Rory renew their relationship and, with Jamie by their side, begin to move forward with their lives, forever carrying the memory of the peril they faced and the fragile peace they achieved. The treasure’s curse remains a reminder that some riches are not worth the price, and that courage, loyalty, and love can still illuminate the darkest corners of desire.
