Green Street 3: Never Back Down 2013

Danny Harvey, Scott Adkins, was once the leader of the Green Street Elite, a tight-knit faction of hooligans who backed their beloved West Ham United. After growing tired of the constant risk and rough camaraderie, he leaves his old life behind and moves to Scotland to run a mixed martial arts gym. When local gangsters show up demanding protection money, Danny easily repels them and warns that if their boss sends more trouble, he will seek him out and deal with him personally.

Danny’s world shatters when he learns his younger brother Joey, Billy Cook, has been killed in a brutal hooligan brawl. Returning home, he reconnects with Victor, Joey Ansah, an old friend who has since become a policeman. Victor urges Danny to stay out of it and promises to handle Joey’s death, but Danny’s need for answers won’t be dismissed.

At the Abbey, the local pub where the Green Street Elite hang out, Danny crosses paths with barkeep Molly, Kacey Clarke, and meets up again with GSE members Gilly, Jack Doolan, along with Big John. Danny’s search for the truth about Joey leads the group to a sharper realization: Joey had become something of a rebel among hooligans and had challenged the wrong rival, paying the ultimate price. Knowing there must be more to the story, Danny opts to rejoin the GSE, though he and Victor keep their alliance discreet as they work to uncover the killer.

As Danny digs deeper, he discovers that the rules of hooliganism have shifted. He arrives with the GSE at a game between West Ham and Tottenham and, in a fit of rage, breaks a bottle over a Tottenham hooligan’s head, getting arrested—only to be released a few miles from the arena. Gilly warns him that the game’s new format is changing everything: organized fights in teams of five. Taking advantage of his MMA background, Danny begins training the GSE for these sanctioned-brawler roles, guiding them through technique, timing, and teamwork. Meanwhile, Victor’s investigations bring increasing pressure from his superiors, who harass him as the case inches forward.

The GSE’s attention then shifts to Millwall, a menacing outfit led by Mason, Spencer Wilding. Mason taunts Danny about Joey during the early clashes, and the GSE’s rise through the ranks fuels a growing rivalry between the two camps. A personal rift widens when Molly confronts Danny after spotting him with Victor; Danny tries to explain that Victor’s intent is to help track down Joey’s killer, but Molly feels betrayed and ends their relationship.

In a crucial turn, Gilly reveals that he knows something about Joey’s death, and Danny discovers that Mason was the one who pulled the trigger in Joey’s fatal confrontation. The tension intensifies when Victor is summoned by his boss, who turns out to be Mason himself, stripping Victor of his duties.

The tournament culminates in a final showdown between the GSE and Millwall. Moments before the fight, a drunk Victor confides in Danny about losing his job, and Danny reveals he knows who killed Joey and asks for Victor’s help in facing Millwall. That night, in a cage set up in the middle of a football field, the two sides clash in a brutal, high-stakes battle. Only Danny and Mason remain standing as the clash intensifies; Mason overpowers Danny, but Danny summons a second wind and delivers a flying drop kick that sends Mason tumbling out of the cage. Police arrive to arrest Mason, and back at the Abbey, the GSE celebrate their victory and cement their status as the city’s premier hooligan faction.

The story closes with a hard-earned sense of closure for Danny and the GSE, whose resilience, loyalty, and MMA-edged tactics redefine what it means to be a hooligan in a world where old rules no longer apply.
