Gabbar Singh [Pawan Kalyan] is introduced as a Circle Inspector policing the Kondaveedu region, a man shaped by a difficult family past. He grows up with his mother, his stepfather Naidu, and his younger half-brother Ajay, watching the imbalance in how his stepfather treats Ajay. In a defining move, he renames himself after the infamous fictional outlaw Gabbar Singh, a act born from simmering resentment. When his temper flares, Gabbar runs away from home, only to be tracked down by his stepfather and sent to a boarding school far from Kondaveedu.

Twenty-one years pass, and Gabbar Singh [Pawan Kalyan] has carved out a reputation as a tough, principled police officer in the same district he once fled. He lives apart from his family, still haunted by the old wounds but dedicated to keeping the peace. He also finds a spark of romance with Bhagya Lakshmi [Shruti Haasan], a handicraft vendor whose warmth and resilience appeal to him, even as social pressures loom over their relationship.

Siddhappa Naidu [Abhimanyu Singh], a local goon with political ambitions, backs a plan through his uncle to seize a path into the MLA’s chair during the upcoming by-election. He views Gabbar Singh as a personal obstacle to his schemes, and when Gabbar thwarts his illicit activities, Siddhappa’s anger grows. To break Gabbar’s influence, Siddhappa unleashes henchmen to disrupt the Kondaveedu market yard, but Gabbar steps in and defeats them, reopening the yard and signaling that law and order will not bow to intimidation.

The tension between Gabbar and Siddhappa escalates: Siddhappa schemes to kill Gabbar, and his uncle counsels a more political route by seeking help from the Home Minister. The minister, however, refuses to intervene and urges Siddhappa to make peace with Gabbar or risk destroying his own political future.

Meanwhile, Gabbar proposes to Bhagya Lakshmi, only to be met with a heartbreaking refusal. She explains she cannot marry while her ailing, alcoholic father needs her care. The tragedy deepens when Gabbar returns home to find his mother has died; Naidu rejects him as an outcast, widening the rift between Gabbar and the family he once hoped to reconcile with.

At a handicraft exhibition, Siddhappa’s men target Gabbar, but Gabbar defeats them and publicly confronts Siddhappa, warning him to stop meddling and declaring that he will never permit Siddhappa to become MLA. The conflict heats up as Ajay, driven by debts, injures a creditor, prompting Siddhappa to call the police. Gabbar responds by humbling his brother in front of others, a move that tarnishes Gabbar’s standing with the district superintendent and leads to his suspension. Despite this setback, Gabbar reconnects with Naidu, who suffers a heart attack, and Gabbar’s care for him slowly rekindles their fractured bond.

In a desperate bid for money and power, Siddhappa recruits Ajay to help in his campaign, offering help in return. Ajay, torn between loyalty and fear, agrees to participate in a dangerous ploy: Siddhappa instructs him to deliver a cellphone and a box of sweets to the Minister’s house, unknowingly containing a bomb that kills the minister. The blast becomes a turning point, revealing that Ajay’s actions were manipulated by Siddhappa and sending Gabbar toward a new, sharper confrontation with the mastermind.

With the minister dead and the political stakes higher than ever, Gabbar dives deeper into the truth about Siddhappa’s schemes. He discovers Siddhappa orchestrated Bhagya Lakshmi’s marriage to a local merchant by bribing her father, a revelation that compels Gabbar to crash the wedding and declare his love for Bhagya Lakshmi, sealing their bond with a spontaneous, on-the-spot wedding.

Siddhappa fights back by bribing the high command to secure a party nomination, but Gabbar swiftly steals the money to thwart his plan. Ajay, who remained uneasy about his role, finally reveals to Gabbar that Siddhappa had pressed him into the assassination plot—and Siddhappa himself later reveals that he killed Gabbar’s mother in a bid to force Gabbar to bow to his demands.

The film reaches its explosive conclusion as Gabbar Singh storms Siddhappa’s house, dispatching his henchmen and finally subduing Siddhappa himself. In the aftermath, Gabbar reorganizes Siddhappa’s former entourage, offering many of them low-profile police roles, while he looks to a future with Bhagya Lakshmi [Shruti Haasan], balancing love, duty, and a commitment to the people of Kondaveedu.

The movie also features a fleeting, high-energy moment in the Kevvu Keka sequence with a special appearance by Malaika Arora [Malaika Arora], adding a memorable burst of color to the climactic events.
