Dragon Quest: Your Story 2019

Luca, Takeru Satoh, grows up hearing how his father, King Pankraz, once led a bold, world-spanning rescue to save Gotha’s queen Mada. When monstrous forces snatch Mada away, Pankraz sets off across the globe with the young Luca in tow, determined to bring her home. Along the way, they cross paths with Bianca, Kasumi Arimura, a fiercely capable ally who becomes an essential companion on their journey. Together they secure the Golden Orb and a sabrecat cub they name Purrcy, and Luca’s road to becoming a hero begins to take shape in the shadows of an ever-worsening threat.

The danger deepens when Coburg’s Prince Harry, Kentaro Sakaguchi, is also abducted by the monsters, spurring a relentless pursuit led by Pankraz and Luca. The pursuit ends in tragedy when Bishop Ladja destroys Pankraz and enslaves both Luca and Harry, binding their fates to a grim bowl of tyranny. The tale widens its scope, introducing the ominous figure Mildrath, Arata Furuta, whose dark machinations loom over the looming crisis and the Demon World that houses Nimzo, a Grandmaster whose fate intertwines with the quest to close the looming rift. Ladja’s scheme intensifies as he plots to free Grandmaster Nimzo by exploiting Mada’s Zenithian lineage to pry open a deadly portal. To prove himself, Luca must claim the Zenithian Sword, which sits in the town of Mostroferrato in the hands of the wealthy nobleman Rodrigo Briscoletti. Briscoletti promises his daughter Nera’s hand to whoever defeats Bjørn, and Luca accepts the challenge. The group seeks help from Dr. Agon, whose strange mastery could transform Luca into the Zenith Dragon—if only he could obtain the Golden Orb that Luca had as a child. The orb is broken, but Agon immediately recognizes it as a counterfeit. He counsels a daring plan: seek aid from the fairies who will provide a new path, sending Luca back in time to swap the fake orb for the real one he once possessed. With the aid of Bjørn and Harry’s assembled army, the party moves to revive Bianca and confront Ladja’s looming threat. In the climactic confrontation, Ladja succeeds in opening the portal, but Alus acts with the courage of a true hero, sealing the rift once and for all.
