Shin Seung-ho stars as Kang Woo-ram, a talented ssireum wrestler who once shared a deep bond with his coach and teammates. However, after the emergence of a fierce arch-rival and the devastating death of his mentor, Woo-ram spirals into a depression, abandons his athletic career, and leaves his hometown of Yeongam for Seoul.
In the city, he finds employment as a bouncer at a drag queen bar called Tracks. His life takes a chaotic turn when his boss tasks him with collecting a debt; although Woo-ram easily handles the debtors’ thugs, they eventually ambush him and strike him severely on the head. This violent encounter serves as a wake-up call, making him realize that a life of street fighting is not his true calling.
While recovering from the attack, Woo-ram begins visiting a restaurant called Burger from Heaven, where he becomes smitten with a waitress named Lee Hyun-ji. Despite his frequent visits for “buy-one-get-one-free” double patty burgers, both remain shy and observe each other from a distance. Over time, Woo-ram develops a deep respect for Hyun-ji, discovering that she is a hardworking aspiring anchor who balances auditions and babysitting by day with her waitressing job by night.
The turning point occurs when Woo-ram learns of his mentor’s upcoming funeral. In a state of drunken sorrow, he ends up injured at the restaurant, prompting Hyun-ji to step in and comfort him. She encourages him to face his past and promises to accompany him to the funeral. This support motivates Woo-ram to return to his roots and rediscover his passion for wrestling.
As they both strive toward their dreams, Hyun-ji pushes through grueling screen tests, while Woo-ram climbs the ranks of the lightweight wrestling championship. Although he initially loses a critical match against his rival, the support of Hyun-ji inspires him to return for a final showdown, which ends in a thumping victory.
The story concludes some time later: Hyun-ji has successfully become a field reporter, and Woo-ram is fulfilling his mandatory military service. As his superiors marvel at someone’s ability to eat two double-patty burgers, Woo-ram smiles to himself while watching Hyun-ji’s report on television.
