Kal-El escapes Krypton

As Krypton is destroyed, Jor-El and Lara launch their newborn son Kal-El in a rocket destined for Earth. An alien parasite named Starro escapes containment in Jor-El’s lab and stows away on the ship, but falls off the vessel during the journey.

Arrival on Earth

The ship lands in Kansas, where Jonathan and Martha Kent raise the boy as Clark. He grows up with extraordinary abilities and a strong sense of justice, preparing for a future he cannot yet fully understand.

Clark becomes Superman; Lois and Jon

Clark discovers his powers and begins protecting the world as Superman. He reveals his true identity to Lois Lane, they marry, and they eventually have a son named Jon.

Jon’s life in Smallville

Years later, the Kent family lives in Smallville. Jon is frustrated by his father’s frequent absences, unaware that Clark is Superman.

Watchtower saved; Japan crisis

One night, Superman saves the Justice League Watchtower from falling out of orbit after it is hit by space debris. He then leaves to rescue Japan from a tsunami.

Jon's birthday; meeting Batman

The next day, on Jon’s birthday, Jon develops heat vision. Clark reveals he is Superman and takes Jon to Gotham City to seek Batman’s advice on his powers.

Possessed Watchtower attack

On the Watchtower, Green Arrow investigates what hit the station and is attacked by a creature. Batman and Superman arrive to help, only to be possessed by Starro spores after Martian Manhunter is infected. The threat of Starro’s hive mind becomes real as the team contends with the growing threat.

Damian discovers Starro's plan

Back at the Batcave, the possessed Batman attempts to infect Damian, who slices the spore apart. Damian realizes Starro has infected the Justice League and Teen Titans and intends to infect Jon.

Lois infected; Jon frees her

Damian travels to Smallville where he and Jon escape an infected Lois. Jon uses his heat vision on the Starro spore infecting Lois, freeing her from Starro’s control.

Fortress of Solitude and Jor-El

Jon and Damian travel to the Fortress of Solitude to analyze a fragment of the Starro spore. They meet a holographic copy of Jor-El, who explains that the Starro spores are controlled by a central hive mind.

Starro is on the Watchtower

Jon and Damian realize Starro is aboard the Watchtower and that removing it could free everyone under its control. They deduce the central hive mind is the key to ending the invasion.

Capture and confrontation aboard the Watchtower

They travel to the Watchtower in Kal-El's ship and are confronted by possessed members of the Justice League and Teen Titans. The friends prepare a plan to disable Starro and stop the mind-control spree.

Lois reveals Starro vulnerability and plan

Lois contacts Jon from President Lex Luthor’s office and tells him that Starro is vulnerable to heat. They resolve to knock the Watchtower out of orbit so Starro will burn up on re-entry.

Watchtower re-entry and battle outcome

After evacuating the subdued heroes on a spacecraft, they set the Watchtower on a course for re-entry. Starro attacks, but the spores die as the ship burns up in the atmosphere.
