Spoilers ahead
In the post-apocalyptic year 2044, humanity has been genetically engineered to live in a constant state of happiness, but this blissful equilibrium comes with a cruel price: sorrow is erased, and once-silent numbness prevails. The result is a world where genuine feeling is rare, and pain becomes the only catalyst that can remind people they are alive. Against this backdrop, the film threads a quiet, unsettling tension between illusion and truth, inviting us to question what it really means to feel.
