A tense, late-night incident unfolds when a young man named Sterling is mugged outside a store. Inside, a loud-mouthed customer, Mr. Laird, freely brags about winning a staggering $156 million lottery, which instantly turns desire into danger. Sterling, wearing a mask and armed with a gun, demands the lottery ticket and threatens violence to get it. In a separate moment of chaos, Cody, a police officer in the bathroom who overhears the commotion, fires and unintentionally shoots Mr. Laird. Sterling retaliates by shooting Cody, escalating the crisis into a deadly confrontation.

Sterling then imposes his will on the already frightened store staff, ordering the owner Amir to move the bodies and erase the security footage. The tension widens as other customers, including Abraham and his pregnant girlfriend Ana, become unwilling participants in the escalating plan to claim the jackpot. The group pieces together a scheme to split the money, weaving fear and opportunism into a fragile consensus. Amir’s brother-in-law and another security guard arrive, but the conspirators manage to keep them from raising alarm, effectively keeping the circle small and the cover intact.

With the initial crime scene secured, the four conspirators unlock Mr. Laird’s phone and craft a cover story that makes it look as if he has simply vanished on a vacation. They toy with the idea of leaving Cody alive in his car with the murder weapon, only to discover that Cody survives his injuries and manages to contact his father, signaling that the lottery ticket’s mystery remains unresolved.

The plot thickens as Abraham drives away in a car carrying Mr. Laird’s dead body, stopping at a railway crossing that becomes a critical crossroads. The security guard who tries to intervene is subdued, heightening the sense that the group’s plan might unravel at any moment. Meanwhile, Cody’s father arrives at the store parking lot with two SWAT teammates. In a swift turn of events, they move to overpower Sterling and Amir, snuffing out the immediate threat to their operation.

Inside the store, Ana stages a chilling display of distress: she stands at first as a victim, wearing a plastic bag over her head, but then reveals she is not dead and uses a hammer to fend off the intruder who tries to challenge her. A second cop enters, and Ana dispatches him with a broken bottle, turning the scene into a brutal upheaval of loyalties and survival instincts. The sprinklers kick in, triggering the alarm and pulling emergency responders toward the chaos.

Cody arrives to confront the escalating violence, but he is fatally shot by the last remaining cop, Captain Rutledge. In a moment of dark deceit, Ana hands Rutledge the winning ticket, only for him to return it with a chilling line that underscores the ambiguous loyalties in play: “All you remember is me saving your lives.” Firefighters and other officers flood the scene as the tension behind the heist reaches its apex.

Outside, the lottery’s sign undergoes a stark transformation, dropping from $156 million to a mere $20 million, signaling that someone else has claimed the prize. In a televised interview, Rutledge reveals that his own share would be $78 million, a detail that underscores the personal costs and power dynamics at work. Ana survives the inferno-like chaos and ends up in a hospital, where she sits beside Abraham as they celebrate the arrival of their newborn, a quiet note of life continuing amid the storm of greed and violence.
