A tense, late-night incident unfolds when a young man named Sterling is mugged outside a store. Inside, a loud-mouthed customer, Mr. Laird, freely brags about winning a staggering $156 million lottery, which instantly turns desire into danger. Sterling, wearing a mask and armed with a gun, demands the lottery ticket and threatens violence to get it. In a separate moment of chaos, Cody, a police officer in the bathroom who overhears the commotion, fires and unintentionally shoots Mr. Laird.
