Xuxa Abracadabra 2003

On a Saturday night, Sofia, Xuxa the children’s librarian, is getting ready to go out with her best friend Patrícia, Heloísa Périssé, when a call arrives from Matheus, the widower who is a cousin Sofia cared for. Matheus asks Sofia to babysit his two children, Júlia, Maria Mariana Azevedo, and Lucas, Brunno Abrahão. Sofia agrees, not only because she adores the kids but also because she is secretly in love with Matheus.

They meet at Matheus’s great-uncle Nicolau’s house, where the astronomer and sorcerer keeps a magical book. Nicolau, Sérgio Mamberti, opens the book and Sofia and the children are pulled into it, tumbling into the shimmering Enchanted Forest where every fairy tale lives. The forest hums with familiar echoes of stories, yet the arrival of real-world visitors unsettles the residents, who are unsettled by the newcomers’ presence.

They also cross paths with Saci Pererê, Toni Garrido, a mischievous spirit of the forest; Little Red Riding Hood, Debby Lagranha, who carries more than a basket of goodies; and the Big Bad Wolf, Lúcio Mauro Filho, whose ominous presence unsettles even the bravest travelers.

As the trio explores, they realize that their real-world origins irritate some fairy-tale inhabitants, who fear the disruption that humans could bring to their carefully balanced stories. The trouble grows when monsters from horror stories awaken, intent on invading the Enchanted Forest, seizing its magic, and spilling into the real world. The forest trembles as these dangers loom, threatening to blur the lines between fantasy and reality.

In the face of the threat, Sofia steps into a protective role, drawing on courage and quick thinking to shield Júlia and Lucas from the encroaching danger. The siblings lean on their new allies, too, as the ensemble fights to push back the intruders and restore order to their shared sanctuary. The skirmishes test loyalties and showcase how the characters’ different worlds can illuminate one another, blending wonder with a gentler, grounded resilience.

When the danger peaks, the group makes a decisive move to return to the real world and seek Nicolau’s aid once more. They race back to the great-uncle’s home to enlist his continued help in sealing the monsters away, hoping to lock them inside their own fairy-tale realm and prevent any further crossovers. With Nicolau’s guidance, Sofia and the children prepare to close the portal, preserving the harmony between the real world and the Enchanted Forest.
