Every Sunday the three longtime friends—Mary, a stockbroker; Alice, a student living under an authoritarian father; and Jeanne—gather at the pool to discuss their tangled love lives. Mary is raped by Franck in a nightclub bathroom and later learns she is pregnant. Alice meets a painter who wants her as a model, while Jeanne, trapped in a miserable marriage, turns to prostitution to make a living.
