Jeong-yeon, Jeon Do-yeon and Jong-bae, Go Soo are a happily married couple with a young daughter who pour their savings into an auto repair shop, hoping to build a stable life. Their plans are shattered when a friend of Jong-bae’s cannot repay his loans and dies by suicide; as the guarantor, the debt falls squarely on them, threatening their livelihoods and the sense of security they’ve worked to create. As financial pressure tightens, Jong-bae becomes increasingly despondent, and Jeong-yeon makes the difficult choice to take on work for a seedy acquaintance. She agrees to deliver diamonds from Paris to Seoul, believing the arrangement will be legal and a way to steady their future.

Her plan sends her to France, but trouble arrives the moment she steps off the plane at Orly Airport; authorities uncover more than 30 kilograms (66 pounds) of cocaine in her bag. The arrest triggers a chain of legal wranglings and a growing distance from home, as an apparently indifferent Korean embassy in France seems unable to move quickly. Jeong-yeon is detained in a French jail, and the situation worsens when she is shipped to Martinique, a French territory in the Caribbean, where she remains jailed for two years without being tried in court. Back home, Jong-bae does his utmost to reach through the channels, contacting diplomats and pursuing any chance to secure his wife’s return.

The film unfolds as a quiet, human portrait of a family pressed to the edge by debt and circumstance, highlighting the emotional toll of long legal processes and international bureaucracy.
