Rosamma John Chacko is a widowed mother raising five children: Ammini, Philip, Benny, Mercy, and Jomon. After leaving her hometown of Kattappana, she relocates to London with her daughter Mercy, who is a doctor living with her husband, Dr. Mukundanunni, and their two kids. Tragically, just two weeks after their arrival, Rosamma passes away peacefully in her sleep. Upon receiving the news, Mercy reaches out to her siblings: the eldest, Ammini, a nurse residing in Canada with her husband Anto and children; Philip, a businessman in America with his family; Benny, another businessman based in Australia; and Jomon, who is searching for employment in Dubai.
In a discussion about their mother’s funeral, Philip mentions to Mukundan that they could split the costs. Ammini insists that Mercy should not allow the body to go to the mortuary, while Mukundan’s mother also voices her opinion that the body should not remain at home for too long. Consequently, Mukundan contacts a funeral agency managed by Dixon Lopez and partnered with Rajagopal, asking them to find a place to keep the body. They successfully secure a house rental for ten days to serve as the temporary resting place.
As Mercy’s siblings arrive, Dixon and Raju provide an explanation of their services and pricing. Mukundan agrees to pay the initial amount and prepares to sign the contract. However, the youngest sibling, Jomon, strongly contests this decision, stating that their mother’s final wish was to be laid to rest in Kattappana next to their late father, John Cacko. Except for Mercy, his siblings oppose him, which causes Jomon, frustrated, to leave and find accommodation in a lodge.
Raju, who is assigned to oversee the body at the rented house, finds himself in an unusual situation when his worker Podiyan suddenly departs on an errand. Under the influence of vodka, Podiyan hallucinates that Rosamma is conversing with him, questioning him about his family. Through this surreal moment, Raju confides in her, sharing his troubles concerning his marriage with Rekha, who has barred him from their home after discovering his inappropriate conversations with her friend. Rosamma instructs Raju to assist Jomon in fulfilling his mother’s last wish and reassures him that by thinking of her as his mother, his problems may find resolution.
Determined to help Jomon, Raju attempts several strategies but faces numerous setbacks. However, he eventually receives support from his friend Kunjachayan, a political figure, who connects him with assistant engineer Balachandran at Kottayam Municipality. Balachandran conducts an unexpected inspection at a shopping complex Philip and Benny are constructing, resulting in a stop memo that puts them under pressure to resolve issues with the municipal chairman.
Caught up in their own turmoil, Philip and Benny inform Dixon of their decision to follow Jomon’s request to bury their mother in Kattappana. Dixon demands the remaining balance before they can retrieve the body. Ultimately, they agree to hold the funeral in London in the morning before catching an afternoon flight to Kottayam. In the midst of these events, Jomon and Raju take matters into their own hands and move the body from the rented house to Raju and Rekha’s home. Following this, a reconciliatory moment occurs between Raju and Rekha, leading her to forgive him.
As the planned funeral day approaches, a flustered Dixon informs the family that the ceremony cannot occur until after 4 PM. This frustration prompts Philip and Benny to leave without attending. However, Jomon reveals to the remaining family that he orchestrated this entire situation to honor their mother’s final request. He invites Mercy and Mukundan to join him, sharing that Rosamma has left the house to him, which he then tears up in front of them, declaring his willingness to give it to Ammini should she desire it. Tearfully, Ammini agrees to accompany Jomon, and they ultimately lay Rosamma to rest next to their father’s grave. Raju and Rekha also pay their respects at the catacomb, closing a chapter of familial strife. Later, Kunjachayan relays to Raju that they deceived Balachandran, yet the issues in the building’s construction are indeed very real.
