Pa. Veluchamy (Velu), a teenage vendor who works at a roadside shop, notices Jyothi, a maid who serves at several nearby apartments, and slowly falls in love. In the same building, Aarthi lives, and Dinesh, a student, shares the block with her, bringing a mix of charm and trouble into the quiet apartment complex. Although Dinesh is a spoiled brat, both fall for each other, with Aarthi drawn to his outward confidence and Dinesh enticed by her warmth. He secretly shoots video clips of her private moments on his mobile and circulates them among his friends via MMS, pulling her into a dangerous web she doesn’t yet understand.

On a beach resort date, Aarthi is stunned to learn what he’s capable of, and she threatens to approach the police. Dinesh, increasingly hostile and calculating, hatches a plan to ruin her life: a car accident is staged, then he contemplates an acid attack. Jyothi, trying to shield Aarthi from the worst of his schemes, becomes caught in the crossfire of his destructive plot and sustains serious injuries in the process. The story gears up as the investigation lands in the hands of a corrupt Inspector, Kumaravel, who begins pressuring the case into his own favors.

Kumaravel negotiates with Dinesh’s mother—who is a school correspondent—but she resists and the inquiry presses forward, ultimately pinning Dinesh as the perpetrator of the attempted murder. Yet the mother, entangled with a minister she is having an affair with, seeks outside intervention. The minister and Kumaravel strike a deal: a bribe of 10 lakh rupees to secure Dinesh’s release from the case.

Driven by motive and fear, Kumaravel then blackmails Velu into stepping in as the accused in court if he wants Jyothi to receive any chance at relief. Velu reluctantly agrees and is sentenced to several years in prison. With the money already changing hands, Kumaravel uses it to finish a lavish house he intends to keep for himself, giving nothing to Jyothi in her hour of need. When Jyothi uncovers the truth—that Velu was framed to save her—she confronts the system and goes to court, eventually throwing acid on Kumaravel herself. She is immediately arrested, and as inquiries unfold, Velu is found innocent and released.

Dinesh is arrested, but Jyothi is then sentenced to seven years in prison for her part in the events. In the closing moment, Velu visits Jyothi in jail, confesses his love, and promises to wait for her. As he walks away, the door shuts behind him, the final image lingering on Jyothi’s disfigured face.
