Spoilers ahead
Devanathan [Nassar] IPS, the long-serving Commissioner of Chennai Police, steps into retirement and begins a quieter life with his large extended family. He moves to the hill town of Ooty, buying two sprawling tea estates, and settles in with his brother Shekar, sister-in-law Viji, and their lively children. His daughter Anitha, a 22-year-old graduate, dreams of walking in her father’s footsteps and becoming an IPS officer with equal integrity. His older son, Ashwin, is a gifted engineer whose brilliance is shadowed by a moody, antisocial streak. Six months into this new chapter, a mysterious man named Daniel enters the picture, bearing a recommendation from Father Andrews, a priest who had once been Devanathan’s schoolmate in Chennai.
