Viraj Shivaraj Kumar is an adopted child who grows up with questions about his origins. He falls in love with Geetha Shubra Aaiyappa, the daughter of his father’s friend. During his father’s wedding anniversary, a proposal is made to unite Viraj with Geetha, but Geetha’s father rejects it because Viraj is an adopted child. After a stroke, Viraj’s father regains consciousness and reveals that Viraj is not an orphan and that his mother Lakshmi and his grandfather are still alive. With this revelation in mind, Viraj sets off on a journey to find Lakshmi in the harsh, heartless kingdom ruled by his grandfather, Huzhur.

On the road, Viraj meets and saves a girl named Nandini. She takes him to Huzhur’s ruthless village, where Nandini falls for Parvathi Nabha Natesh, the daughter of Viraj’s uncle. One day, Parvathi’s father kidnaps and tries to kill Nandini because she is close to Viraj, but Viraj saves her. Parvathi tells Viraj that they are looking for a groom for her and asks him to elope with her, but he refuses.

Huzhur learns of their relationship and tries to kill Viraj. Lakshmi reveals that she already knew he is her son. Parvathi and Lakshmi beg Huzhur to spare Viraj, but he declares that he could kill his son-in-law and see his daughter widowed, yet such an act would only expose his cruelty; this confrontation becomes a turning point, and in the end Huzhur relents and accepts Viraj.
