Kalidasan works in the state archaeological department and is a devoted food lover. At 45, he remains unmarried, and his only constant companion is his cook, Krishna. His nephew, Naveen, arrives to stay with him while he searches for a job. Gowri, a dubbing artiste living with her friend Meghana, accidentally dials Kalidasan one day when she tries to order a dosa. Their initial conversations are awkward, yet they discover a shared passion for cooking. Kalidasan is a born gourmet, while Gowri channels her culinary energy in memory of her late mother. Their exchanges grow into a long-distance romance, enriched by their mutual love of food and the playful challenge of baking, including Kalidasan’s revelation of his secret cake, Joan’s Rainbow.

Before meeting in person, both grow anxious about their appearances and decide to send younger stand-ins. Naveen and Meghana arrive as substitutes, each thinking they are the real Kalidasan or Gowri. When they finally meet, neither is aware of the other’s true identity. Naveen assumes Kalidasan is in love with Meghana, while Meghana assumes Gowri is in love with Naveen. They attempt to derail the match by warning the other that age and personality differences would spoil it, which only deepens the confusion.

Loneliness and a desire for honesty push Kalidasan and Gowri to plan a face-to-face meeting. Naveen and Meghana, who have begun to feel something real for each other, worry that the true identities will be exposed. Naveen confesses to Meghana that he is not the real Kalidasan, and Meghana shares her side as well. Realizing the mess they’ve created, the two young lovers apologize and reveal what they’ve learned to the older couple.

The story converges at the planned museum rendezvous, where Kalidasan and Gowri finally meet in the flesh. Emotions churn, decisions are made, and their relationship transitions from tentative digital chats to a genuine, hopeful connection in the real world.
