Raja is the only son of retired military colonel Chandrasekhar, raised with strict discipline, and his father’s plan to secure an alliance through an arranged marriage sets the stage for a web of misdirection and character collide. Chandrasekhar intends to wed Raja to Indhu, the daughter of Viswanathan, a tea estate magnate in Ooty. But a mistaken identity triggers chaos: Raja mistakenly believes another girl is Indhu (Chandrasekhar’s nephew Shankar swapped the photos), prompting him to flee Chennai rather than submit to the arranged match. Unknown to him, Shankar harbors his own scheme to seize property by driving Raja away from the family home.

Raja heads for Ooty, where he crosses paths with Vasu Vasu, a crafty con artist who, after a rocky start, becomes an unlikely ally. The two form an uneasy friendship as Raja adapts to a new life far from the rigidity of his father’s house. During his days in Ooty, Raja spots Indhu, and a magnetic attraction begins to bloom—though he does not yet realize she is the very girl his father intends him to marry. Guided by curiosity and growing affection, Raja shadows Indhu and eventually lands a driver job at Viswanathan’s estate to be closer to her.

In a bid to keep the truth hidden, Raja entrusts a family ring to Vasu, hoping it will keep the secret safe. However, Viswanathan misreads the gesture and believes Vasu is Chandrasekhar’s son. He brings Vasu into his home and presents him as Indhu’s prospective fiancé, setting off a cascade of mistaken identities that complicates loyalties and trust. When a gang attacks Vasu, Raja intervenes, and the incident convinces him that someone is actively targeting him. From that moment, he continues his mission incognito as a chauffeur, determined to uncover the reason behind the threat and to protect those he’s come to care about.

Viswanathan then informs Chandrasekhar that Raja has been found, but he asks for delay before meeting him, reluctant about the potential clash between paternal authority and new revelations. Meanwhile, in Ooty, Raja works to win Indhu’s heart, while Vasu finds himself drawn to Viswanathan’s sharp and capable secretary, Meena [Meena]. As feelings begin to shift, a romance quietly grows between Indhu and Raja, creating a delicate triangle of loyalties and affection.

The situation takes a sharper turn when Chandrasekhar himself arrives in Viswanathan’s house to see Raja. With Raja concealing his true identity as the prospective son-in-law, both Raja and Vasu must improvise to navigate the mounting tension and keep the truth from tearing the family apart. They end up moving about together for a few days, trying to present a united front to Viswanathan and Chandrasekhar while they weigh the consequences of the wedding agreement.

Shankar discovers that Raja has been found and escalates his plans. He teams up with Viswanathan’s twin brother, Kasinathan [Kasinathan], a recently released criminal, to seize Viswanathan’s wealth and property. The two men’ lavish spending contrasts starkly with Viswanathan’s stinginess, fueling the brothers’ suspicions and driving the tension higher. As the plot thickens, Raja and Vasu tail Kasinathan’s movements to uncover Viswanathan’s location and the mastermind behind the kidnapping.

The suspense peaks as Raja learns that Shankar is the mastermind behind the entire scheme, coordinating with Kasinathan to manipulate the family’s fortunes. A climactic confrontation ensues, culminating in the arrest of Shankar and Kasinathan.
