Shivarudra Lingaiah, a ruthless Bangalore gangster, schemes a major smuggling operation and goes to Prabhakar, the shipping company owner, hoping to move the goods through his fleet. When Prabhakar refuses the deal, the tension shatters into violence: the gang lord murders Prabhakar’s wife and menaces his infant daughter Nitya, forcing Prabhakar to bow to the pressure and accept the partnership.

As the plot unfolds, Prabhakar intercepts a ship from Dubai that carries Shivarudra Lingaiah’s contraband. He diverts 90 percent of the smuggled goods onto another vessel and discreetly sells it to a third party, gaining the upper hand in the shady business. After signal-fire betrayals and a desperate escape, Prabhakar flees to Australia with Nitya, seeking a fresh start far from the crime-ridden streets of Bangalore. Shivarudra Lingaiah is arrested on a tip-off from Prabhakar, yet the machinery of crime keeps turning from inside the prison walls through his son, Dheeraj, who continues the vendetta from a distance.

Fast forward to 2014, and Shivarudra Lingaiah emerges as an MLA candidate, with Dheeraj by his side, itching to settle old scores with Prabhakar. Nitya arrives in Bangalore to visit her late mother’s grave and is soon kidnapped by Dheeraj’s gang. She is rescued by Agastya, an automobile mechanic whose quiet life hides a dark, violent past. He protects her at his home, a gesture supported by Prabhakar’s trusted circle, and a tense cat-and-mouse game unfolds between the two men in Mughor, the grim criminal domain ruled by an iron-fisted syndicate.

Nitya grows fond of Agastya, while she learns from a confidant about his murky history in Mughor. The story reveals how Agastya, driven by along-held promise to his friend Bala, carved out a feared power base in the region, earning him both respect and notoriety. Bala’s brother Maara is killed in the consequent clashes, an act that haunts Agastya and fuels his resolve to change his path. He had once vowed a life free of violence, a vow connected to Agastya’s mother and the hopes she represented, a vow that Padmaja Rao embodies in the present tense of this tale.

The conflict escalates as Dheeraj, seeing his father’s weakness, kills Shivarudra Lingaiah and abducts Nitya to Mughor, prompting the ruling syndicate to demand vengeance on Agastya. He returns to Mughor to challenge the entire criminal fraternity, and the clash culminates in Agastya killing Dheeraj and rescuing Nitya once more. Bala, moved by a sense of budding trust, ultimately allows them to depart Mughor, signaling a fragile peace between old rivals. In the end, Agastya chooses love over vengeance, leaving Mughor behind to start a new chapter with Nitya by his side.
