Troublesome Night 6 1999

Four years ago, four paparazzi stalked Kwok Siu-Heung, a model who was dating a wealthy tycoon. After Kwok fell to her death from a rooftop and landed right in front of them, they tampered with her body and snapped photos from multiple angles before fleeing. The pictures made the cover story of the magazine.

In the present day, Chak, a police inspector, and his colleagues are investigating the death of one of the paparazzi who was found inside a lift. Chak begins to experience visions of Kwok in a red dress and holding a red umbrella, as if she is trying to communicate with him. As Chak and his team uncover more clues, they realize that Kwok’s suicide is at the center of the case, while the other three paparazzi die in eerily similar ways.

While off duty and under the influence, Chak slips into a dreamlike state and recalls the night Kwok died on the rooftop. They were kissing when she dared him to follow if she jumped off, and he believed it was a joke. He warned her that he would be next if she died, a scream of guilt that followed them as she plunged from the rooftop. He rushed down to seek help, only to be knocked down by a car and fall into a coma. When he wakes, a fog of memory hangs over him—until Kwok’s ghost returns to remind him of what he promised her, reigniting the struggle between memory, guilt, and the truth behind the woman’s death.
