Adam, a naive 19-year-old slacker, lives with his mother Nicky in the house of her intimidating gangster boyfriend, Peter. After Adam accidentally wrecks Peter’s luxury car, Peter orders him to work off the damage and sends him to run errands for a criminal associate. When Peter leaves, Adam browses through Peter’s laptop and discovers an incriminating video that shows Peter assaulting a woman, a discovery that will pull him deeper into a dangerous and shadowy world.

The next day, Adam accompanies an aging hit-man, Roy, on a brutal 24-hour journey into a criminal underworld. The road trip quickly spirals into violence as Roy eliminates a Latvian man, Danil, who was living in a camper in the woods. Roy then tries to coerce Adam into shooting a young Latvian woman, The Girl, who witnesses their dismembering of the body. Adam refuses, giving her a chance to escape while those gruesome acts unfold around him.

Roy escalates his operation, using Adam to hitchhike and then carjacking a camper van from an elderly couple. The duo contacts the woman who finds Adam’s phone in the car, striking a bargain to recover the bag of dismembered body parts in exchange for £7,000—though Roy doesn’t actually have the full sum. To cover the rest, Roy robs a diner, holding up staff and customers to ensure the deal goes through. After reclaiming the bag, they plan to switch vehicles and dispose of the evidence, but Roy knocks Adam unconscious with a wrench at a quiet roadside spot. Before Roy can kill him and finish the dismemberment, The Girl follows and suddenly intervenes, kidnapping Adam.

At a water pumping station, The Girl binds Adam to a rail and explains that her sister was sold into sex trafficking, passing through Sergei, Ivan, and Danil, only to be bought by an “Englishman.” She shows Adam a photo of her sister who bears a striking resemblance to the woman in the video on Peter’s laptop. Flipping through photos on Adam’s phone, she also discovers a picture of his mother with her boyfriend, a revelation that deepens the emotional stakes. Roy arrives, and a tense confrontation erupts as Adam frees a hand and retrieves Roy’s gun. Realizing Roy had planned to kill him all along, a furious Adam shoots Roy in the torso. Roy pleads for mercy, explaining that he was given orders, and that Adam’s death was supposed to be part of “the job.” Adam senses that Roy’s motive may be connected to his single act of witnessing Peter’s crimes.

They leave the pumping station and discover that the woman had left behind the car, money, and other belongings. Adam drives Roy in the stolen van toward a church where Roy’s daughter is getting married, and Roy admits that he spared Adam’s life because of his apparent innocence, suggesting Adam now has a second chance at life. Back at the earlier scene, Peter clings to the belief that he’s nearing death, while Adam drives away in the van, intent on erasing the trail by burning the vehicle and destroying the cellphones and other evidence, though he keeps the gun.

Returning home, Adam confronts Peter with the gun and alerts his mother to the double life he’s led. In a shocking sequence, Peter gains control of the gun, knocks out Nicky, and drags Adam to the garage. There, The Girl arrives and shoots Peter in retribution for what he did to her sister. When Peter tries to strangle her, she stabs and kills him. The Girl then approaches the waiting Adam, climbs into her car, and, with an inviting look, signals him to join her in the uncertain future that lies beyond the life he has just left. The scene leaves his fate open, a stark end to a night that began with a teenager’s misstep and spiraled into crime, betrayal, and the price of secrets.
