What Is The Embassy About?
The premise of The Embassy without spoilers.
Filipa César uses a mid‑20‑century album of colonial photographs—landscapes, people, architecture and monuments from 1940s‑50s Guinea‑Bissau—to interrogate how former Portuguese rule is visually encoded and how collective memory is shaped. A Guinean archivist then presents the same images, narrating his nation's story from his personal perspective.
