The New Sun (2017): Cast

The animated video features the Sun personified as a child-faced star with a captivating voice. Through a half-sung, poetic monologue, the Sun addresses a human lover, presenting a disconcerting vision of a world in decline. The monologue explores the enduring power of words and language as the only constants in a collapsing world, shifting between emotionally charged confessions, comedic moments, and an interpretation of the song "I Got Love" from the musical Purlie. Despite the dark ambiance, the performance suggests a sense of hope and highlights the significance of language as a tool for social responsibility.
