The Mall, The Merrier 2019

Tanacio Jameson Blake and Mola Molina Dimples Romana run Tamol Mall and raise two children: Moises/Moira and Morisette. After their separation, Morisette moves in with her mother, Mola, while Moira (played by Vice Ganda) stays with her father, Tanacio. Years later, Moira runs the mall, and Morisette works as the editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine in Australia, alongside Mola.

As Tanacio and Mola plan a trip to Dubai, their children feel the tug of family duty and the pull of the future. Moira faces devastating news: both of her parents have died in a plane crash. In the midst of this tragedy, Morisette returns home and clashes with her brother, stirring up old tensions. When Tanacio’s will is read, the final page is mysteriously missing, having been left behind at his home in Zamboanga, and the mystery of inheritance begins to unfold.

Morisette launches a hostile bid to take control of the mall, while Moira asserts her own claim as the elder child. A fierce sales contest ensues, but the two sisters reach a deadlock, leaving the ownership status unresolved as tensions rise and loyalties are tested.

At the next will reading, it’s revealed that Morisette is the sole legitimate heir to the mall, a revelation that Moira disputes, arguing both siblings are legitimate. The lawyer explains that Mola was pregnant with Moira at the time of Tanacio’s marriage to her, which muddies the lines of succession. Moira concedes defeat for the moment, even as Morisette prepares to return to Australia for a magazine assignment.

Moira stumbles upon a hidden vault behind their parents’ wedding photo and discovers a spellbook titled Siquijoraciones. Ignoring a microphone linked to a public announcement system, she recites a spell that animates the mall’s mannequins, pictures, and toys, plunging the shopping center into magical mayhem. Morisette and Moira must act quickly to restore order, but their book is stolen by a golden cat that comes to life, complicating their task.

They are confronted by Moody, the mall janitor who is actually Mola’s older sister, a figure who has been pursuing the book for a long time. Moody Dimples Romana confronts the sisters, and Moira and Morisette manage to escape and retreat to their old hut, which miraculously remains intact despite the mall’s construction. Inside, they glimpse their parents through a wedding photo as Tanacio asks Moira for forgiveness and expresses gratitude for her steady support.

Moody later joins them for a hug, but when she reaches for the Siquijoraciones book, the pages scatter, and Moira and Morisette race to locate the exact page that holds the spell. Morisette finds the missing passage and recites it, causing the statues, pictures, and mannequins to snap back to their original forms. Moody is captured by mall security, and a bittersweet moment follows: Mola urges Moira and Morisette to choose love above conflict.

As Morisette confronts the consequences of the night, she vanishes for a time, leaving Moira to discover that Morisette’s standee has been with her at the office all along, while the real Morisette is found tied up elsewhere. Morisette seeks forgiveness from Moira and explains that she witnessed everything that transpired. She returns to the mall, intending to leave for Australia after seeing the positive reception of Moira, only to be drawn back by the Siquijoraciones and the chance to make things right. In a final turn, Morisette is briefly restrained by a standee come to life, but the sisters decide to face the future together, choosing to renovate and manage the mall as a team. The film closes on a note of reconciliation, resilience, and renewed partnership between the siblings.
