An important document, intended to serve as crucial evidence in court against a dangerous triad boss, disappears from the Hong Kong police, setting off a tense, time-crunched manhunt. The Special Duty Unit’s Sergeant Shek turns to the seasoned mercenary known as the Eagle Hunter to retrieve it, believing that only someone with his particular blend of skill and audacity can outsmart the criminals who stole it. In a daring break-in at the triad boss’s mansion, our protagonist battles his way through a stream of henchmen and uses a clever ruse to coax the boss into opening his own safe, where the stolen document lies hidden. The tension of the job gives way to an uneasy calm as the immediate danger eases, but the mission has only just begun.
A new summons arrives in the form of a letter from Shum Kwan, an archaeologist friend who has unearthed a mysterious artifact in Greece and wants Andy to examine it with him. Shum warns that he is being tailed by international spies, casting a broader shadow over the already perilous pursuit. Andy heads to Greece with his nephew Ban-Ban and his loyal assistant Snooker, hoping to find answers and perhaps some peace. On a tour of the ancient Parthenon, the trio unexpectedly crosses paths with Shum, but trouble is never far behind. A group of KGB operatives posing as Interpol agents ambushes Shum, and a furious chase ensues. Andy, aided by real agents Cindy Morgan and Billy, gives chase and defeats the impostors, allowing Shum a narrow escape. It’s a brief moment of relief before the deeper stakes become clear: Shum is a target, and the artifact he seeks to protect may hold powers far beyond anyone’s guesses.
Shum’s precarious position intensifies when he arrives at Andy’s hotel, only to be shot by a KGB thug posing as a hotel assistant. He survives but is forced to leave behind a baggage containing the mysterious artifact in Andy’s room before being captured by Karov, the ruthless head of the KGB. Though Shum is tranquilized when he refuses to reveal the artifact’s whereabouts, Karov deduces that Andy may be the custodian of the jade’s power. The case grows ever more intricate as Andy, back in Hong Kong, learns from his sister about a lead from Winnie, Shum’s sister, and is drawn toward a gym where she trains. Ban-Ban eagerly unlocks the luggage to reveal the jade—a living piece of stone with a mind of its own, capable of speaking—and befriends the artifact, while Andy confronts a fresh web of danger and obligation.
Winnie reveals she has had no word from her brother for a month, and the situation becomes personal and urgent. Ambushed by Karov’s thugs, Andy, Winnie, and Lo Sai—an aggressive stalker who fixates on Winnie—put up a fierce defense, and Andy fights to keep Winnie safe. The jade, through Ban-Ban, begins to show its magical nature by performing tricks and enabling Ban-Ban to outwit a schoolyard bully. Sergeant Shek presses Andy, Winnie, and Lo Sai for answers about the recent attack, while Cindy and Billy join the growing team in Hong Kong. The moment of truth arrives when Karov returns, demanding the jade. A brutal clash erupts with Karov’s henchmen, and though Lo Sai discovers the jade’s peculiar power to command others, its range is limited to five feet, a limitation that becomes a critical factor in what follows when Lo Sai attempts a bold bank robbery and is promptly locked away in an asylum.
The plot takes another sharp turn when Shek informs Andy that Shum has been found at his own home, only to discover both Shek and Shum dead and Andy knocked unconscious. Cindy and Billy strike fast to arrest Andy on suspicion of murder, leaving Winnie to endure the chaos and Karov’s pursuit. Meanwhile, Karov kidnaps Ban-Ban along with the jade, and an assassin is hired to kill Andy with ice bullets—an attempt that fails. Billy helps Andy escape from prison, revealing that his actions are part of a larger plan to expose moles within the police force and weaken Karov’s grip on power. The group—Andy, Snooker, Cindy, Billy, and Andy’s sister—launch a bold assault on Karov’s headquarters, fight through a chorus of henchmen, and rescue Ban-Ban. The jade activates briefly, guiding Ban-Ban to safety at the police station, but a traitorous mole tips Karov off about Ban-Ban’s whereabouts, only to be arrested by Billy.
With time running out, the team races to Greece, where Ban-Ban has paid for a boat ride to a mysterious island. Karov captures him again on the way, and the pursuit drives them into an underground complex filled with perilous booby traps. They discover a chamber containing a high-technology device and an alien in suspended animation, whose telepathic recording reveals a startling history: the alien crash-landed on Earth over two millennia ago, helped found Greece’s civilization, and now seeks to return home. The discovery reframes the jade as a living computer with the power to facilitate the alien’s return, provoking a furious confrontation as Karov closes in. In a climactic battle, Andy, Cindy, and Billy join forces to thwart Karov, who chases Ban-Ban into the heart of the chamber.
The jade, at last reconnected with its socket, revives the alien and activates a transport beam, just as the villain is dragged away by the energy. In a poignant final turn, the jade exhausts its remaining energy and dies, bidding a bittersweet farewell to Ban-Ban, who has grown attached to the artifact. From the ashes of this event, a young jade hatches—a symbol of new beginnings and the bond between the boy and the strange civilization the artifact once helped to build. This sprawling, globe-spanning adventure closes on a note that blends wonder with sorrow, as the living artifact departs on its last journey and a new chapter begins for Ban-Ban, who carries with him the memory of an ancient alliance and the signals of a future beyond Earth.
