The Lark Farm 2007

The film adaptation of Antonia Arslan’s Skylark Farm (La masseria delle allodole) brings to life the Avakian family, an Armenian clan living in Turkey who own two houses and try to carve out a quiet, stable existence amid shifting tides of hostility. Among the group is a young boy who is dressed as a girl in an attempt to survive the slaughter, a stark reminder of the desperate choices families must make in the face of annihilation.
