Zee, a professional hit woman based in Paris, operates in a world of shadows and danger, frequently commissioned by Finn, an Irishman with ties to the notorious crime lord Jules Gobert. Her primary job is to eliminate Gobert’s rivals in the fiercely competitive drug trade, a profession that has forged a path of violence and constant peril, leaving her with minimal joys in life. Among these scant pleasures is her friendship with Tessier, a kind-hearted elderly tailor who provides support through crossword puzzles, her pet goldfish, and clever disguises for her assignments. Despite the violence surrounding her, Zee has earned a fearsome reputation as the Queen of the Dead within the criminal underworld.
In a recent operation, Zee is assigned by Finn to obliterate the members of a drug gang in Marseille while they are reveling in a vibrant nightclub atmosphere. Following a swift and brutal confrontation, a chaotic scene unfolds when a young American singer, Jenn Clark, unwittingly gets caught in the crossfire, resulting in an unfortunate accident that leaves her temporarily blind. Struck by compassion, Zee decides to spare Jenn’s life, even though her mission dictates otherwise. Finn, however, insists Zee complete her task and sends her to the hospital where Jenn is recovering.
As law enforcement, led by Inspector Sey and his partner Jax, grapple with their own problems, they work tirelessly to apprehend Jenn’s criminal boyfriend, Coco. Their efforts lead to an unforeseen confrontation in which Coco escapes, resorting to violence that ends in Sey making a desperate decision to take control of the situation. In a cruel twist of fate, Coco dies while listening to one of Jenn’s demos, prompting Sey to track Jenn down, believing she holds the key to the unfolding chaos.
Under the guise of a U.S. embassy vice-consul, Zee infiltrates Jenn’s hospital room with lethal intent, but fate intervenes when Sey walks in, hoping to gather information from the traumatized singer. Caught in a tangle of deception, Zee hesitates to commit the murder as Sey’s inquiries raise her suspicions. Meanwhile, as the investigation unfolds, Sey begins to connect the dots, linking Gobert to an audacious heroin theft orchestrated by Finn to monopolize the Paris drug scene.
In a shocking turn of events, Zee finds herself back at the hospital, this time attempting to protect Jenn from Finn’s ruthless henchmen. A shootout ensues, and amidst the chaos, Zee narrowly escapes, taking Jenn to her apartment for refuge. However, when Jenn recognizes Zee as the infamous nightclub assassin, their dynamic shifts, and Jenn reveals their involvement in the heroin heist previously stolen from Bin Faheem, an Arabian prince connected to Gobert.
Zee seeks to deceive Finn by claiming she’s successfully dealt with Jenn, back at their encounter point within an abandoned church. Yet Finn soon unravels the truth behind her deceit. In a fateful encounter, Sey confronts Zee during one of his investigations, leading to her arrest for her involvement in past cases concerning other drug dealers. As she manages a daring escape, she learns from Tessier that Finn’s men have taken Jenn hostage, further amplifying the stakes.
In a desperate ploy to maintain control, Finn eliminates Gobert, which sets into motion an intricate master plan where Zee is coerced into assassinating Sey. However, Zee recognizes the ruse and instead teams up with Sey to dismantle Finn’s operations, realizing the gravity of their shared plight and the impending danger surrounding them. In a fierce showdown that culminates at the church, they reclaim the stolen heroin and prepare for a climactic exchange for Jenn’s safety.
As the battle unfolds, Sey ignites a massive explosion, destroying the drugs and triggering an unexpected miracle for Jenn as she miraculously regains her eyesight. In a moment of quick thinking, Jenn distracts Finn with a bold question, enabling Sey to provide Zee with a weapon. In the intense standoff that follows, Zee takes decisive action, eliminating Finn and closing the chapter on their perilous connection.
With the danger finally behind them, Jenn joyfully reunites with her mother, while Zee, filled with a sense of newfound hope and resolve, reaches out to Sey to express her intentions for a better life. Their paths now diverging, they share a heartfelt goodbye, marking the end of a tumultuous journey that challenges their identities and opens doors to brighter futures.
