Before the T.I.C and the Clappers crew existed, they worked for a ruthless Yardie boss named Beverly. Jay, one of the crew members, dreams of establishing his own criminal enterprise, despite facing constant setbacks and financial struggles. Inspired by his ambitious girlfriend, Selene, he begins to build a criminal network. However, his plans are jeopardized when he's arrested and Beverly uncovers his secret ambition. A failed robbery following a jail sentence and a trip to Jamaica lead to the crew's downfall, all while an undercover police officer, known as ‘Gunz’, observes their every move.

Overall, The Intent 2: The Come Up is received poorly by the majority of critics and viewers. Reviewers criticize unfocused writing, uneven editing, and subpar performances that undermine the film’s intended authenticity. Consequently, the film offers limited appeal and little incentive for repeat viewings.
The Movie Echo Score Breakdown for The Intent 2: The Come Up
Art & Craft
Regarding art and craft, the film shows a lack of polish in its visual and editorial choices. Critics note hamfisted editing and a YouTube‑style camera approach, while users describe odd angles and prolonged scenes that weaken immersion. Although a handful of viewers mention lavish locations, the overall execution feels inconsistent and detracts from the intended gritty aesthetic. The technical aspects therefore fall short of professional standards.
Character & Emotion
Character and emotional depth are minimal, with acting frequently described as poor or unintelligible. Multiple reviewers highlight weak Jamaican accents, confusing dialogue, and a general lack of chemistry among the cast. A few comments praise individual performances and the inclusion of young black actors, yet these isolated positives cannot compensate for the pervasive shortcomings. Overall, character work fails to engage or resonate with the audience.
Story & Flow
The story suffers from incoherence and pacing issues that leave viewers disengaged. Critics label the script unfocused and riddled with clichés, while users complain of a tedious, hard‑to‑follow plot and inconsistent timelines. Some audience members note occasional entertaining scenes, yet the overall narrative lacks clarity and purpose. Consequently, the film’s storytelling fails to maintain interest or deliver a satisfying arc.
Sensory Experience
Auditory and visual elements receive mixed reactions; the soundtrack garners praise for lively dancehall tracks, yet the overall sound design is often deemed unremarkable. Visually, the film’s lavish party scenes contrast with poorly executed camera work and inconsistent lighting, creating a disjointed aesthetic. While a few viewers appreciate the energetic music, the sensory experience as a whole feels uneven and fails to enhance immersion.
Rewatch Factor
Rewatch potential is notably low, with most reviewers advising against additional viewings due to frustration and lack of narrative payoff. The film is described as a time sink and often incomprehensible, diminishing its lasting appeal. Although a small segment of the audience cites enjoyable action and music, these isolated elements do not create sufficient incentive for repeat engagement.
