What Is The Indomitable Leni Peickert About?
The premise of The Indomitable Leni Peickert without spoilers.
The sequel continues Alexander Kluge’s Artists in the Big Top: Perplexed, following circus owner Leni Peickert after she trades her radical circus for a TV job. At the TV station Leni and her friends attempt to introduce revolutionary ideas into the corporate setting. Kluge undercuts their activism with shots that focus on sexuality—most notably a lingering view of a young revolutionary’s low‑cut blouse—suggesting personal desire can eclipse political ambition.
