In the affluent Buenos Aires of the late 1950s, a young woman named Sulamit Löwenstein befriends her neighbor, Friedrich. Their connection begins with a lost dog, but their lives become intertwined by a complex history. Sulamit is the daughter of German-Jewish immigrants, while Friedrich is the son of a high-ranking SS officer, both burdened by the shadows of their families' pasts. As they navigate decades of political upheaval, their relationship deepens, leading Sulamit to confront her identity and Friedrich to become involved in radical student politics in Germany, before returning to Argentina to oppose the military junta.
