On June 5, 1944, just before the pivotal D-Day invasion, a secret and dangerous mission unfolds on one of the Channel Islands occupied by the German Army. A team of commandos, composed of Captain Ben Grogan and Sergeant Joseph Tane—both from New Zealand—are tasked with sabotaging key German installations as a distraction from the upcoming Normandy landings. Their covert operation begins with a daring arrival by kayak on a deserted, mine-laden beach, highlighting their skills and bravery as they stealthily make their way inland under the cover of darkness.

Their primary goal is to disable a large artillery gun that overlooks the English Channel, a strategic position crucial to the German defense system. As they approach, they notice an eerie absence of patrols and are immediately confused by strange, unsettling screams echoing from a main German bunker. Despite their initial focus on the sabotage, the team becomes increasingly intrigued—and disturbed—by the strange environment. They find the artillery unguarded and proceed to wire it with explosives, but their mission takes a dark turn when Luke Hawker’s character, a German soldier, runs out of the underground bunker seemingly trying to escape something monstrous within.

This soldier’s frantic escape ends abruptly as he is shot dead by the commandos to prevent him from revealing their presence or the strange happenings inside. Captain Grogan, portrayed by Craig Hall, is deeply unsettled when he hears the haunting screams emanating from the bunker, which appear to be coming from a woman. Driven by curiosity and a sense of moral obligation, Grogan makes an unauthorized decision to go on a rescue mission into the bunker, leaving Sergeant Tane feeling hesitant but eventually following him.

Inside the bunker, they stumble upon scenes of brutal carnage—massive blood splatters and mutilated bodies of German soldiers suggest a horrific violence. Grogan also discovers a strange book filled with satanic spells, written in an unfamiliar language, revealing disturbing practices carried out on the island. It becomes clear that some form of dark ritual has taken place here, and Grogan is soon confronted by Matthew Sunderland as Colonel Klaus Meyer, a German officer with a chilling interest in the occult. Meyer kills Tane in a brutal attack to seize the book, leaving Grogan alone and increasingly suspicious of the true nature of the strange screams and the creature behind them.

Meyer, surprisingly, doesn’t kill Grogan but captures him—tying him up and attempting to extract information about the imminent invasion. During their tense interrogation, Meyer reveals that the strange screams belong to a demonic creature conjured from the occult, a shape-shifting demon that can mimic any woman it desires. Meyer, who has a background in studying the supernatural, claims that the creature, unleashed on the island, has killed many soldiers—feeding on them, shape-shifting into their loved ones, and causing chaos.

Grogan learns that Meyer’s goal is to defect to the Allies—believing that the demon might be used as a weapon or could pose a threat if left in Nazi hands. During their conversation, Meyer mentions that the demon can be controlled or banished through specific rituals. As Meyer discusses his plans, Grogan manages to free himself by secretly using a small can opener to cut his bonds and then fights Meyer, who quickly flees into the darkness of the tunnels. Grogan soon discovers blood on the ground, indicating Meyer has been wounded but remains dangerous.

Pursuing the screams once more, Grogan finds a chamber that resembles a Satanic ritual space—marked walls, candles, and the remains of soldiers strewn about. In the shadows, he sees a woman who appears to be his dead wife, Helena, played by Gina Varela, pleading for release. However, Meyer appears, holding a rifle, and claims she is not his wife—before shooting her in the head. The corpse suddenly respawns, transforming into a red-skinned, horned demon with sharp teeth that begins to devour a severed human limb.

Grogan quickly realizes that this creature is not Helena but a malevolent demon that the Germans inadvertently unleashed due to their occult experiments. He witnesses Meyer trying to harness the demon’s power for himself, intending to sacrifice Grogan during a ritual to gain control of it. Grogan, enraged and desperate, fights back, throwing Meyer out of the protective spell they had prepared. Meyer is later violently attacked and decapitated by the demon, which proceeds to resume its monstrous form, chained in a room that once served as a Satanic altar.

Throughout these events, Grogan is guided by the belief that the demon cannot cross water—an old superstition that Meyer confirms—allowing him to contain the creature temporarily. He decides to leave the demon chained, believing she will not escape due to this divine-like restriction. Before departing, Grogan cleverly swaps the crucial spell page from the occult book, ensuring that the demon remains restrained and under his control. As he leaves the bunker, he reflects on the chaos he’s just witnessed, now faced with the formidable task of preventing the demon’s escape or resurgence.

The climax hints at the ongoing threat as a German soldier, Nick Dunbar as a character arriving at the bunker, discovers the woman, Nicole, played by Jessica Grace Smith. The scene suggests that the nightmare may not be over, closing with the eerie image of the soldier embracing what he believes is his lover, just as the screen fades to black amid haunting screams.

This story intricately combines elements of wartime secrecy, supernatural horror, and the consequences of forbidden rituals—painting a chilling picture of evil unleashed beneath the shadows of war.
